The Hubby recently acquired a crap-ton (I’m sure this is a word) of new music. Instead of really taking the time to go through it, I added a bunch of tunes to my iPhone under a new playlist, hit shuffle, and waited for the pleasant and sometimes not so pleasant result. This little gem was a nice surprise.
I can’t remember the last time I actually heard this song, but it doesn’t matter how long it’s been, it still makes me wanna dance. It doesn’t matter this is the only lyric either; it makes my booty want to bounce, and this video makes me want to work out.
Unusual transition over, I realized I haven’t written about exercise in a long while, but I want you to know, it’s still happening. In fact, I worked out 16 out of 31 days in August, which is 51%. Not too shabby, although I’d like that number to be a click higher, and not because I need to lose weight, or I’m exercise crazy. Nope, I workout to clear the cobwebs from my mind, to ease stress and tension, to relax and get down. I work out to feel good, and it works every single time, even on days I might not be into it, especially on days I might not be into it.
Typically when life gets all crazy, I just nod, smile and say everything is fine. And then I go to the gym, hit it hard, and it makes me feel better. Exercise is my therapy.
So while I may not talk about every exercise or a particular workout class (I taught spinning twice last week; it was the Bomb and I have found my calling), rest assured it’s still happening because I wouldn’t give it up for anything.
So let me see that booty bounce.
I hope this song gets stuck in your head for the rest of today 🙂 .
What song gets you moving? And do you exercise for the mental as much as the physical?

YES! Exercise is my therapy! Songs that make me move: Oh baby…. my current favs: flashdance (deep dish version), everybody (rudenko),idioteque (radiohead) and anything by daft punk 🙂 I am going to make and send you a workout “mix tape”!!

I’m convinced your goal in the blog world may be to get music stuck in my head…. my booty will be bouncin the rest of the night.
51% is super fab. I’ve been trying to find my “balance”. My life has transitioned into doing it because it makes me feel good ya know? It’s weird coming from a place of “need” to “want”.

I get it. I actually love to go to the gym now because it’s just such a release for me. The thing I like just as much as exercise and food is music. I do most things with a song in the background or running through my head. And booty bounce, how could I let that gem pass me by. I had to share it.
