It’s official. Today marks the spot. Oh wait, that’s X. Crap, I blew it already.
No matter, today is my one year blogging anniversary, and I almost (emphasis on the word almost) can’t believe I’ve rambled on for an entire year now. It’s ridiculous really. I mean what the hell have I talked about for twelve months? I’m serious.
Out of sheer curiosity (because it worked out so well for the cat), I decided to go back and read some old posts and man oh man, I am long-winded. I’m pretty sure today won’t be an exception either. I also happen to think I’m pretty funny, but we already knew that, didn’t we?
In honor of this momentous occasion, because it really is a momentous occasion and far be it from me to ignore an opportunity to pat myself on the back, I’ve decided to share some of my favorite posts with all of you. I’m also going to prattle on about why they’re my favorite, and if that wasn’t exciting enough, I’m going to throw in a give away. A give away of what you might ask? Well you’ll just have to stick around to find out, or you could skip to the end, but there’s no fun in that, and I will know with my secret ninja senses if you have committed such an atrocity. I wouldn’t try it.
- Beet It I was completely inspired by the food (or drinks as the case may be) and this post literally just poured out of me. Alcohol may have been involved and AC/DC definitely was.
- Dancing With Myself because sometimes a girl’s just gotta dance.
- I Am Iron Man what’s that you say about a healthy ego?
- We Have Ourselves A Winner where I crowned a winner in the summer long battle royale between my CSA and I.
- Rise Up: Food Bloggers Against Hunger a worthwhile rant if ever there was one.
- Squash It because sometimes you have to squash that shit.
- WIAW: The Stacey Edition where I talk about calorie counting and pretty much lay my soul bare with a week’s worth of eats.
- Confessions pretty self-explanatory and more soul baring.
- WIAW: The Hair Band Edition the Hubby’s favorite, and
- An Ode To Grilled Cheese Just because I said so.
Not only is today my blogiversary, it’s also WIAW. Since I wouldn’t want to disappoint, I’m sharing my Saturday eats with all of you. Before I get into the details, make sure to stop over at Peas and Crayons and say thank you for hosting our weekly shindig.
Now the goods: breakfast was a blender full of golden beets, an orange and some strawberries along with two slices of toast with butter and raspberry jam (♫ “I like bread and butter. I like toast and jam” ♫). I also snacked on a bottle of Original Sin, a hard cider or a religious term alluding to the fall of man. Take your pick; me I’ll go with the malt beverage. Dinner (we’ll circle back to lunch) was an evening out with the Hubby, where I ordered a cranberry salad with sunflower seeds and goat cheese and a side of onion rings. I can’t even remember the last time I ate anything fried and these were spot-on: light, airy and chock full of onion-y goodness.
While my dinner salad was good, it was sub par when compared to my own lunch time bowl of greens. I think the picture below proves my point. Two snaps and a ball of pink glitter for me, or really just a fantastic salad.
This little beauty began with a bed spinach, always a good start. Then I topped him (going clockwise) with avocado, feta, red bell peppers, carrots, and baby swiss chard, while green onions round out the middle. I shared this bowl of deliciousness with the Hubby because I’m nice or perhaps it was in my best interest to do so. I did need his assistance (ahem, ahem) at various times over the weekend…something about a party to plan.
Before I wrap this up, I said something a little earlier about a giveaway, and my sole motivation behind doing so is to say Thank You.
Thank you for reading, for commenting, for coming back day in and day out, for putting up with my potty mouth and inappropriate jokes, and for making me deliriously happy (although I think I was delirious going into this thing). Your support means the world to me, and I wouldn’t be blogging without it. I bow before you.
Now you know the reason behind my giveaway, but still not the what. I’m such a tease, I know.
Here’s the deal. I’m not in bed with any food companies. In fact, I’m not in bed with anybody other than the Hubby, so I’ve got no special products to hawk today. What I can entice you with though is Granola. Not the Love Grown kind or the Bear Naked brand. Nope, instead I offer you the Clean Eats version, which means it’s homemade and ships directly from my kitchen to yours. I even promise to wash my hands before I make it, although if you’re familiar with my blog, you know that’s not an issue. Quite the contrary, you’ll be lucky if I don’t sterilize the granola before sending it.
This little give away is open to anyone, anywhere and I’m going to give away not one, but two separate batches of granola to two separate people. What can I say, I’m feeling charitable.
The only way to win is to leave me a little comment love (because I’m a comment whore) letting me know your favorite granola flavor (apple pie, cinnamon swirl, peanut butter chocolate and the list goes on and on). Special bonus points if you make me laugh. Who knows maybe I’ll actually make your flavor of choice.
Additional entries will also be included by doing each or any of the following:
- Subscribe to my blog,
- Like Clean Eats Fast Feets on Facebook, or
- Follow CleanEatsFastFeets on Instagram.
Please leave a separate comment for each additional entry letting me know you’ve done so. The giveaway will run until Sunday, May 11th at midnight. Game on.

Is there such a thing as cookie dough flavored granola? Or peanut butter and jelly (like peanut butter granola with freeze dried strawberries or bits of a jammy glaze)? If not, there should be 😀
Congratulations on your blogiversary! I wish I could say that I’ve read your blog from the start, but sadly I cannot. However, I have read every post you mentioned so that’s a start 🙂 I have my 1 year anniversary coming up soon too. Well, sort of. I’m still deciding whether to go with my first post or that “Hello World!” one. Haha.
Either way, congrats again on making it a year, and a memorable one at that. I hope you continue to blog for a long time and I’ll always be a faithful reader 🙂

I can not believe it has been a year since the infancy days of your blog!! I was there at the beginning and I am a lucky lil fan to be able to still get my almost daily dose of your wit, culinary creations, and inspiration. I do miss the food samplings – including your granola!! I miss you girlfriend!! Keep doing what you are doing because like a fine wine (we wouldn’t settle for anything not “fine”), you are only getting better with age!! I am so excited to see how your idea for a blog has grown into a full-blown, fan based, rockin good time!

Happy one year! I am a new reader, well about a month or so. I think I got led to your blog from a guest post! I am always amused. Like you, I have the potty mouth and obsession with lists. 😛
As for the granola, I love anything that’s fruity and chocolatey. 😀 (Who doesn’t right?!)

A haiku about granola:
Yum Yum Yum Yum Yum
Yum Yum Yum Yum Yum Yum Yum
Yum Yum Yum Yum Yum
I LOVE apple spice/pumpkin spice/blueberry granola (tastes…kind of like pie…). Not a huge chocolate fan (blasphemous, I know).
Happy blogiversary!

Happy Anniversary! (Crap, now I have to decide if I’m going to celebrate the day I published my first post or the day I started sharing my blog with other humans . . . . because they were like weeks apart since I wanted folks to have some things to read once they arrived. Thanks for that dilemma.)
Now that you’ve got a year under your belt, what’s your Old Timer advice to a New Blogger?

what a fun trip down memory lane – I just read all of your favorite posts (and quoted a legend in one of my comments), and now I have a list of grilled cheeses to make and Def Leppard in my head. thank you in all sincerity for that.
I’ll have to say peanut butter chocolate granola. yum. happy anniversary, my dear.
Allie says
Blooooooog-iversary! And I’ve been craving beets lately, and I entirely blame you.
Allie says
I also clearly follow you on IG, since I’ve been spam-a-lamming you with comments and chives.

I also subscribe to your blog. And, unfortunately not worth an extra entry, I also really REALLY want your granola. Not as much as your grilled cheese, but I have a feeling granola would survive a trip through the mailing system in much better condition. GRILLED CHEESE GRANOLA? I would eat the heck out of that.

Any apple/cinnamon combo is tops for me. Bonus if it has toffee bits or butterscotch anything.
Love a good crunch to my granola…homemade is ALWAYS best too (:

Happy Blogiversary!! Great post–i even went back and re-read some that you listed as your favorites! I can’t remember exactly when I started following your blog, but I am glad I did–you’re truly an inspiration and you even make me laugh while inspiring me!! While I’d LOVE some PB chocolate granola–you don’t need to enter me in the drawing–I already got to taste your AMAZING granola so it wouldn’t be fair to get another batch….I DO think, however, you should open up your own restaurant–your meals always look so tempting and i know for a fact the granola is da bomb! 🙂
Cheers to another year of blogging!! I know I’d be sad if you stopped!!!

Congratulations on a one year anniversary! Or congratulations to all of us! I know you’ve made the past year more interesting, entertaining and enlightening for me. I don’t know how you picked your favorite posts because every time I read a new one I think “OK, THIS one is my favorite.” (though the grilled cheese edition might be a edging out the others in my book…)
PS- I love that your giveaway is something homemade. So genuine and original!
Alex @ Brain, Body, Because says
Happy one year! How exciting!
I think that every single blog should have a mandatory “Ode to Grilled Cheese” post. I gotta get on that…that’s what she said (no? okay.)
Does my favorite granola flavor have to be something that I have actually experienced IRL or can it be something that I would very much like to experience? If so, my ultimate fantasy granola flavor would be sort of spicey, like carrot cake, and maybe even have bits of carrot in it. Would that be possible? Dehydrated or something, maybe. And also something that sort of hints at sweetened cream cheese, like maybe some sort of drizzled frosting. Is this even granola anymore?
Alex @ Brain, Body, Because says
Also, of course I subscribe to your blog! Otherwise, how would I know when you update? I’d have to check everyday like a creep.
Alex @ Brain, Body, Because says
…and I follow you on IG, too. I especially like the cat pictures.
Thank you for hosting the giveaway, Meghan!

And may the odds be everrrrrrrrrrr in your favor! haha! Sorry, I had to! 😉
HAPPY BIRFFFFFFFFDAY BABY!!! I’m only two days late…what the hell! Let the pink balls of glitter FLY!!! Crank up the music, turn down the lights, and hey, Timmy….go grab the disco ball! It’s time to parrrrrrtaaaaaay! *cue awkward white girl dance moves* And you better BELIEVE there are some jazz hands and failing arms involved! 😉
Ok, so now that I got THAT out of my system…After clicking back on those links and realizing that I’d never seen HALF of them (wtf?), I’m sitting here trying to remember when I started reading your blog! I can’t even remember how I found you! Was it through Allie? Ehh, the only thing that matters is that I know (and love) you NOW!! Honestly, you are one of the few bloggers out there who I really feel like I connect with. Thank you for making me laugh even when I didn’t feel like it and supporting and encouraging me when I needed it. xoxo
Your salad looks magnificent, but I’ll confess, those onion rings are really putting a spell on me! Gah, I can’t even remember the last time I had a GOOD onion ring (hate it when it’s like all batter and no onion)!
And now, a word on granola… Hmm, I kinda feel like I should whip my hair into a bun, put on some glasses and hold a big book or something. Too much? How about I hold up a bag of oats the size of my head? I’m fresh out, but I know I can borrow yours! 😉 Wait, I was talking about granola! Damnit Heather…FOCUS! Granola…yes…favorite flavor, you ask? Hmm, that’s a tough one…I feel I’m an equal granola-tunity kind of gal, but I guess there is one in particular that stands out in my mind. I won it in a giveaway last year…it was blueberry and almond. That was when I realized how damn good dried bloobs are! That bag went down FAST! I keep saying I’m going to try recreating it, baaaaaaaa-ut, I AM still a newbie in the granola-making department. How about I just leave it up to you?? I would like it to come wrapped in sterilized blue and yellow ribbon and sealed with a kiss…mmKay? Thanks! 😉
