Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.
The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Need more details? Head here.
♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫
Let’s get listing:
Ave had her eight week checkup, which included five shots, and I don’t mean the over twenty-one, dance on the bar kind, not that I would know from experience or anything. Alright fine, there was that one time, or really those handful of occasions. I’m older and wiser these days. Plus, I’d probably twist an ankle.
(Passed out.)
I nursed for 18 hours which is way less than the week prior. Ave appears to be getting more efficient at the breast, and I for one appreciate it.
As a result, I wrote and published two blog posts, including this scandalous confessions post.
I cleaned off the madness that made up my dining room table. This entailed paying bills, putting away presents, and writing thank you cards.
I showered every day, a huge success, especially since I managed to sneak in a run on Friday afternoon. Working out and not showering is bad news bears, at least in my case because I tend to sweat, buckets.
I took Ave into my office for her first official visit. It was great to see and catch up with all my coworkers.
I went through and recycled three years worth of cooking magazines.
We also gave Ave two baths. This kid absolutely loves being naked, yet another trait she got from her momma. Can you blame her? Of course not; pants are so overrated.
I did crazy amounts of laundry and unloaded the dishwasher on an almost daily basis. I have no idea how two people go through so many dirty dishes, except well, yeah, I eat a lot these days. I claim breastfeeding. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.
Speaking of food, I picked up my first CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share of the season and promptly ate all the ruby red strawberries.
Last but certainly not least, the Hubby, the baby, and I went to Buffalo this weekend to visit the family and for a barbecue on Sunday. Thanks Corey and Lauren. Everything was lovely, especially the lemon pineapple mint water. The sangria wasn’t bad either. 😉
It’s your turn. I want to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.
What are three things you accomplished in the last week?

Brushing my hair is an accomplishment these days. I think I did it twice last week? GO ME

I completely understand. It’s why I cut off all my hair. One less thing to deal with you. In the meantime though, go YOU!. 🙂

Sweet. The pictures of Ave – especially her bow-y appearance and cheeky tongue 🙂 – obviously but also hearing about a week of yours that sounds like you got back into the groove.
It’s funny how many paralels I can see here: being naked – helloooom, favourite state of being for my sister’s little boy. That’s probably another bonus he likes about the no-diaper thing. And getting shots – I felt so bad for him.
We’re twinning with the strawberries today though I repurposed an older picture yet actually harvested the first ones from our garden this past week. Summer is really almost here now.
On another note I’m getting seriously mad at my scrummy internet because I commented on your confessions post and it did -not- show up. Same for multiple other blogs … Ack.
Happy Monday!

For some reason, your comments went to my spam folder, but I caught them and put them through so your time and efforts was not in vain.
I am still in awe of the no diaper thing. I’m afraid I’d have poop all over my house, although I have heard more about it lately. It certainly makes potty training easier or non existent really. 🙂
Three cheers for strawberries. 🙂

1. This post makes me smile so much! You sound better and less stressed than the last weeks.
2. Also your week sounds pretty fantastic. A good mixture of being productive and being social.
3. I haven’t had a good Sangria in a while and now I am totally craving one.
4. This chicken hood is fabulous. I would seriously wear that!
5. I somehow have missed your scandalous confession posts. I will catch up tonight 🙂

3. I would wear the chicken hood too, except it’s too small. I tried. 😉

Wellll clearing off your desk and getting rid of those magazines must have made you feel pretty on top of the world, huh!? Huge organizational props right there.
Ave may prefer not wearing clothes, but she sure does dress up nice when going out to be introduced to a fledge of office workers. Her chicken suit is pretty fabulous as well. I second Julie – we should probably all get one of those.
Sounds like a really lovely week, Meg! Here’s to another just beginning.

Thanks Cora. It was a pretty good week if I do say so myself, and I totally do. 🙂
They need to make adult chicken robes so we can all cluck around in them.
Ave has a very full wardrobe with way more clothes the me. The irony is we didn’t buy her a single thing. They were all gifts or donations. #grateful #thankful

thanks for the link up! glad you had a productive week! those rounds of shots (in the leg if I call correctly) were never fun but probably worse on me than him lol. Although, they gave me something to blame his crankiness on!

The shots were tough to watch, and they made her so sleepy. She spent the better part of the day passed out, although when she was awake, she would let out these little whimpers which just broke my heart. Clearly, I was more affected than her. It’s also probably the real reason my nursing numbers were low. Between the sleeping all day and the road trip, she didn’t have the chance, although I was super impressed she made the trek without needing a feed along the way. She gets two snaps and a twirl in my book. 🙂

I’m overly thrilled for your week! And a little too excited about bath time. I’m convinced I’ll have a water baby who loves to splash around like I did. It’s weird to imagine that I’ll be having a June bug. Being a winter kid myself this is new territory, but exciting territory nevertheless.
That lemon pineapple water sounds good! We had an adult evening on Saturday complete with beverages and I enjoyed a few sips of local honey cider. I felt like a proper grownup! Until June bug got the hiccups in my belly, which tickled.
I heard Guinness is ok while breastfeeding. I may or may not try this..

I think a few sips of the honey cider sounds magical and well deserved. Towards the end, I would take a nip of stuff here and there.
Ave has the hiccups all the time, she did in the womb too. Sometimes it sounds like she swallowed a squeaky toy, although they don’t bother her at all. 🙂

Every time you go to Buffalo I’m jealous. I would say I accomplished nothing this past week, but last night at like 11PM I got a notice on my computer that my credit card and passwords would be stolen if I didn’t call the technician to fix it. So I spent last night on the phone fixing some virus problem. $250 and a lot of hand running through the hair later, I have a virus free computer and lighter wallet.
Yay for adulting.

Hi Meghan! I was just having a conversation about CSAs yesterday. I’m intrigued! But I would be worried I wouldn’t be able to use it all up each week. Anywho — have a great day!

You should definitely look into a CSA. You can generally choose a share size so you don’t end up with too much. For example, I switched from a medium to a small this year because I’m not sure I can keep up with the baby. Another benefit is CSA’s help spark creativity in the kitchen.

Your family always seems to know how to do the foods right. I’m really happy to hear that you’re spending less time breastfeeding and getting more efficient just so that you can feel like you’re getting yourself back a bit. I picked at my food with each pregnancy but I ate like a linebacker when I nursed them.

Oh if it was only acceptable for adults to go without pants… so much more comfortable. I usually catch one or two kids without pants on… can’t really blame them. I really need to find a CSA. I think about it every year, but always when it’s too late to sign up, so I think I need to get on the ball one of these days.

Some CSA’s you can sign up for late and participate in the second half of the season. You should still check it out. I love mine, and it’s a lot of fun.

Looks like you had an awesome week! I feel like our dining tables must be similar – mine always seems to fill up with stuff, no matter how much I clear it off! To the point where, some nights we’re eating dinner surrounded by piles of laundry or bits and pieces and that’s become the norm, haha!

I’m just grateful we have a kitchen table too since there’s generally no room to eat on the dining room table. In fact, we only use it when we’re entertaining.

Ave is such a cute little chicken! I want that bathrobe too… Why don’t they do those things for adults!!
I would eat all those strawberries too if I was you – glad to here your CSA is up and running again for the year. We have citrus everywhere right now – the mandarins in particular are divine, so sweet and juicy!
Congrats on recycling those cooking magazines, I remember when I had a subscription to one, I hoarded on to those things for so long… And rarely made anything from them! Instead I just read and admired the food!

Absolutely no shame in immediately finishing something from the CSA! The first time I got cucumbers I ate them ALL on the walk home. It was unfortunate for Blogger Melissa who needs to snap a photo of the whole darn thing so I can write about it but it was totally worth it!
We had an expected trip out of town so I had to quickly toss what was left of my berries into the freezer – can’t wait to pull them out for smoothies!
