Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.
The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Need more details? Head here.
♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫
Let’s get listing:
I recuperated. I spent the vast majority of my few and far between free minutes curled up with a book, a cup of coffee, my planner or some slutty television programming (thank you Bravo). It was exactly what I needed to get my game face back on.
I hung with the tiny human, a lot. We played games, we read books, we bounced, we danced, we sang, and we soared through the sky. Ave is an excellent flyer.
I went through the Ave’s closet and dresser drawers and swapped out the clothes that are too tiny because my kid is growing. She’s 7 months old now and almost triple her birth weight.
We hit up the lactation support group and had a play date in the park with other tiny humans.
(There is clearly something absolutely enthralling in front of them. Hell if I know what it is.)
We went to my in-laws house for dinner to celebrate some good news for the Hubby. Booze was consumed.
I also did my own happy dance when People shared my very own Cucumber Tomato Salad in their article 10 Easy Appetizers That Won’t Ruin Your Appetite on Thanksgiving. I take secret pleasure knowing the post accompanying this recipe deals with my thoughts on mad monkey loving after secreting a tiny human out of my bits and pieces. Cackle, cackle.
Speaking of blogs, I managed to eek out a second post last week, chock full of sweet potato recipes because those guys are damn sexy.
I made a giant batch of Oven Roasted Veggies.
I paid bills, decluttered some drawers, and did laundry like a boss.
In super exciting news, the Hubby and I turned his ‘manchuary’ into our new office. I’m kind of in love with the work space.
The highlight of the week though was a fireside movie with the Hubby complete with popcorn, all the butter, and ginger beer.
It’s your turn. I want to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.
What are three things you accomplished in the last week, big or small?
Miss Polkadot says
What a good good week it sounds like. Congrats to the hubby on whichever good news he received and to you for the recipe feature. They picked the right recipe to kick up the spice of their round-up in multiple ways ;).
Seven months! It’s so crazy how fast little humans grow, no? Also making me sad because some of P.’s clothes are so cute I want him to be able to wear them forever. Not even thinking of the fact he’ll be a teen wearing ‘cool’ clothes one day …
On a random note Germany needs to up its planner game stat! Ours are by far not as fun as yours. Actually, I think the concept of adults having fun with their calendars- the sticker and drawings kind of fun – is pretty much unknown. Tsk.

Planners (and associated stickers) are a huge deal here which I didn’t know until a girlfriend opened my eyes to the underground planner world. 🙂
Ave has clothes she never even got to wear. It’s amazing how quickly they go through their stuff.

This week kicked butttttt. Or rather, you kicked its butt. You sound refreshed, which I hope is true. Congrats on your salad being used!! That’s so awesome!! Who knows – maybe the underlying monkey loving theme rose it to the top? People like a little extra spice these days. Love the new office, love the popcorn, love the shiny object those kids are fixated on… love it all.

I gotta figure they didn’t read the post or else they might not have chosen it. I mean I do say the Republic of Labia is open for business again. 🙂 🙂
Last week started rough but by mid-week I was getting my groove back and I’m in a much better place mentally.

Oh your office space looks so nice! It’s amazing how much more productive you can be when the space is right. And popcorn, movie, and a ginger beer sounds like a fantastic evening. I’m looking forward to spending some time at home during our Thanksgiving break this week.

Ooh, is this the room to the left when you walk in from the back? If so, great location for an office!
I’m also secretly in love the the dump truck butt. I’d be singing ‘she’s got dumps in her truck’ at that kid all day long, which would be a big change since my current ear worm is the Hamilton cast album. Do they even call them albums if you don’t hold a physical thing any more?
Apparently I’m in a rambling mood. Last week I toured a hog farm and saw no actual pigs (“biosecurity”, I’ll ‘splain more in Friday’s post) and worked and volunteered and saw my brother and made Thanksgiving #1. Today I’m going to roast 2 turkey breasts and make my MA’s Make Ahead Mashed Potato Casserole for 20, this is Thanksgiving #1.5 because my spouse will take all of it to work tomorrow for their luncheon.
I’ll be at work–and each non-holiday for the rest of the week–since apparently people go out to eat at fancy pizza joints before/after Thanksgiving and expect to get fed. It will be interesting to see how much cooking I feel like doing when I’ve been on my feet cooking . . . but that’s what kids are for. Especially kids who get the day before and day after Thanksgiving off while their mom slaves in a kitchen 😉
Congratulations Jon!

You are correct. It’s the room in the back of the house to the left of the back door. It’s great for an office space, which we lost when we gained the nursery so it feels like I’m reclaiming a bit of my life back. Also we managed to keep the short couch in there (on the opposite wall now) so there’s a lovely little reading/bird watching nook too.
I want pizza all the time.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and the Family!!

1. You killed it last week!
2. Ave looks like she is flirting with the camera 🙂
3. Congratulations! I LOVE the fact that such a true Meg style post gets picked up and shared! No one else can sell a salad with a post about mad monkey love but you. It’s a talent!
4. I love your office. I think it’s the perfect nook for an office space. Not too far off but still kinda private when you want to focus on work. I hate our office I can’t work there. I occupy the dining table at the moment.
5. Congrats to the hubby! You have to celebrate the good things when they happen!

I shall pass along your congratulations to the Hubby. We’re thrilled (although exhausted) here in Cleveland. My flirty little baby pulled a late nighter last night. I have no idea why either. Scratches head. Guess I’m in for lots of coffee today, which is really no different than other day. Ha.
I can only imagine they didn’t read the salad post. All of the rest of the recipes included were super simple, straightforward posts. Nothing kinky or crazy. 🙂

My roommate and I have been watching tons of movies together now that we’re moving out soon. We also cook with each other and just talk a lot more. It’s funny now that our time is almost over, we’re together the most we’ve ever been. She makes the best homemade popcorn! I think it’s the airpopper 🙂

We got that same swing and OMG love it. That’s how I can get 20 minutes to shower and prepare myself with miss Lulu in the same room. We keep it the bathroom cuz that’s where I need it. Ave is sitting up so wonderfully!! Lulu is working on it. Got a ways to go;)

Your new office has the best vibes. The natural light, the plant life… I love it!
Last week I worked a bajillion days in a row, caught up on The Mindy Project (II’m considering it an accomplishment), and went on two walks to enjoy the last of our warm fall weather. Seriously, what the heck Mother nature – how do you go from +19 celsius to -3 in the span of 24 hours?

It’s amazing how quick kids go through clothes… they either outgrow them before they’ve worn something or in our case stain it so bad it never gets worn again. Your planner game is seriously strong. I can’t decide what planner to go with for next year… I’m probably overthinking it, but it has to be PERFECT!! 😉

Amanda @ .running with spoons. says
Thats most definitely a gorgeous looking office. The one I have right now has NO WINDOWS, which makes me die a little inside. I wanted to set up a desk by my big window so I can look outside while I write, but I can’t find one that’s the right size and style. The hunt is never-ending. And I’m all out of popcorn, too… although that stuff is way easier to find.

The desk came from the Hubby’s parents. Luckily they were looking to unload it which prompted the entire new office space.
