Get you pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.
The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫
On St. Patrick’s Day, I turned forty. I dropped Ave off at the in-laws and embarked on my last big, birthday hurrah. With friends in tow, we hit up six watering holes, guzzled a drink or two in each one (and a side of water because forty), hoofed it all over downtown Cleveland, and made plans should the zombie apcolypse ever happen. Selfies with the undead is not recommended.
In any event, instead of a typical weekly recap, I’m sharing the shenanigans that happened last week solely because it was my birthday.
Let’s get listing:
I rocked out with my pink hair out.
(I’m a natural, unlike this hair color.)
I got to enjoy brunch with a side of mimosas (my one and only birthday requirement).
(I gave my peameal bacon to the Hubby and then proceeded to eat my friend’s regular bacon. Protein, bro.)
Balloons! Forty of them to be exact and one very excited toddler.
A refreshing and revitalizing mint green smoothie, not that I needed actual revitalizing. I didn’t even touch the coconut water I bought as a hangover cure. Perhaps I am growing up.
A Thursday afternoon Prosecco date with my bestie, alongside a bowl of upscale tater tots, plantain chips and all the dips. Hashtag spud love.
Flowers purchased by someone other than me, although to be fair, I did buy a bunch of pink tulips last week as well. I intend to keep buying flowers until the ones in my yard actually bloom. Spring goals.
A lovely evening out, where I got to pick the restaurant, even though the rest of my party isn’t a fan of spicy food, Ave excluded. She’ll eat hot sauce plain if you let her.
Last, but not least, no birthday would be complete without a cake. A raspberry white chocolate cake to be exact. It was an absolute mess coming together and there’s a crater in the top, but I won’t be kicking the leftovers out of bed anytime soon.
Thank you to each and every one of you who made my birthday so special. I’ve got mad love and sloppy kisses for you all.
Now it’s your turn. I’d love to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.
What is something you accomplished in the last week? Big or small. How did you celebrate your most recent birthday? Do you buy yourself flowers?

Seriously, your surpassed even what I thought you would conquer on your birthday weekend. Are you sure you’re 40? I’d say you have a few more milestone birthdays of bar hopping in you. Oh and I think the best tasting birthday cakes are the ones that are cratered and lopsided and a little falling apart…. they’re the ones with all the love in them.
Love love love and happy birthday again, you wild woman you <3

Thank you lovely! I had a wonderful time and while I’m sure mimosas will remain in my birthday future, bar hopping might not. I’d rather spend the day celebrating with the tiny human. Cue sappy music.

Happy Birthday you little imp! Compared to me, you seem at at least 10 years younger than 40! Adding Ave to the mix, well, they say children keep you young; then gosh, you’re still a mere teen.
Ha! There is no room in my life for any sort of fake bacon whatsoever. It’s one of a very few things that keep me from a darling of the vegetarian life lol! (maybe a twice yearly weenier..and get your mind out of the gutter)
All of the beautiful foods you had not prepared by you! You honored my love for of the spud so well that now I’ve got the craving…oh my!
So glad you had fun and how did you and Ave survive without one another?

Happy birthday! Those plantain chips and dips look amazing. My toddler kid likes hot things too – she loves wasabi. I don’t usually buy myself flowers but those birthday flowers are gorgeous! I do buy myself chocolates though. Like often.
Jen @ Chase the Red Grape says
Ahhh what a fun day!! And every single one of my birthdays has to start with a great breakfast too!!
I really do hope that this isn’t your last hurrah though… Surely more bithday shenanigans are in your future… Or at least ones that start with birthday cocktails???
And the videos with Ave and the balloons… So cute!!

Happy birthday again to you!!! The cake still looks fantabulous to me despite the mishap in the center. Glad to hear you celebrated in all the best ways possible–with flowers, food, friends, and feisty hair to match the feisty gal that you are.

The cake was pretty tasty and I officially ate the last slice last night. 🙂

HOORAAHH for a successful fortieth. You celebrate harder than some ten years younger *ahem meee.* Your cake looks delicious, well done. Those plantain chips are so crispy I can see the crunch through my screen, excellent job to the restaurant, and YOU WERE KID FREE AND LIVIN IT UP. One last HBD for good measure.
