Winter is coming.

I suppose it really came last month when we got that first wallop of snow and accompanying frigid temperatures. ♫”Well hello, Mother Nature. I said hello Mother Nature. So nice to see you back where you belong.“♫ Or something to that effect. While Hello Dolly was never my favorite, I figure a little flattery can’t hurt. Besides, it’s too early in the season to tick her off, so instead I will sing and say, “I can’t wait to endure your season.” Then, I’ll fill you in on what’s Currently going on in my world, weather aside.

Current Book: Sycamore Row by John Grisham. It’s early days yet, although I’m happy to see the same faces and places from A Time To Kill.

Sycamore Row

Current Music: I’ve been listening to the Classical Music station on Pandora, in attempts to keep my blood pressure low. I’ll let you know if it pans out.

Current Non-Guilty Pleasure: I’m on a pretty big pizza bender. I’ve been eating it for breakfast, lunch and even dinner, although never in the same day. Alright there was that one time (cough, cough).

Mediterannean PizzaCurrent Nail Color: still clear, although I did buy a new shade of red for my toes. I’m a clear on my hands, red on my toes, type of girl; otherwise known as business on the outside, party on the inside.

Current Drink: coffee, give me all the coffee.

Coffee To Do List(source)

Current Food: Despite the fact they’re no longer seasonal, I’m raspberry obsessed. For whatever reason, they’re super affordable at Nature’s Bin right now, so I’ve been popping them like tags.

Blueberries & Raspberries

Current Favorite Show: some movie marathon action last weekend with the Hubby. Little people, pointy ears, dragons and fire were involved. Sounds rather kinky if you ask me.

The Hobbit

Current Wish List: daylight, because taking pictures at night blows harder than Free Willy with a clam stuck in his beak. Yes, I realize he doesn’t actually have a beak. It’s an awkward metaphor. Go with it; it’s easier for all parties involved, mainly me.

Night Lighting for Food Photography

Current Needs: a nap, because I’ve been working anywhere from ten to thirteen hour days this week, not including blogging, so I desperately need to catch up on my zzz’s. This is another thing better for all parties involved, most especially me.

Current Triumphs: scaling walls, or really my house, in order to hang our holiday wreathes. Bring on the rickety ladders and highest of heights. Oscar and I laugh in the face of fear.

Meg on a Ladder

Despite a lack of opposable thumbs, Oscar believes he is an asset to the team.

Despite a lack of opposable thumbs, Oscar believes he is an asset to the team.

Current Bane of Existence: email. Not cool universe, not cool.

Email Not Cool Universe

Current Indulgence: sending all those email to the trash. Man, did that feel good.

Current Blessing: I’ve been witnessing the most beautiful sunrises in the morning and gorgeous color-filled sunsets in the evening. Can I get a witness?!

Sunrise

Sunsets

Current Outfit: dress clothes, because in my non-blog life, I wear suits to work most days and sometimes I even do yoga poses in animal print pumps and pencil skirts. That’s skills right there, my friends.

Yoga Meg

Current Excitement: now that the outside is done, the Hubby and I are getting our Christmas tree this weekend and decorating the inside of the house. Bring on the pine needles, Christmas carols, and hot cocoa with a dash of Baileys. Alright fine, just bring on the Baileys.

Holiday Wreath

Current Links: Human generosity can be pretty amazing sometimes. I wish we’d see more stories like this in the news. http://patch.com/california/malibu/stunned-fast-food-workers-la-given-100-gratuity-smile-cry-and-share-love-0

Current Mood: caffeinated. It’s totally a mood.

Your turn. Fill me in on what I missed. What’s Currently going on with you? Current mood? Current excitement? Current Book?  Current Music?

I am so glad I am not the only one with like a squillion unread emails. You inspired me to do a bit of clean up! 🙂

How weird. I deleted 1500 emails yesterday. Just purged the shit outta that inbox.
I’ve been saying for 6 months that I’ll “get to” all the blog posts that are in there. I finally said ‘fuck it. if I wanted to get to them I would’ve already.’
I’m slightly freaked because I don’t know how much to send to my cousin for the Olson Family Calendar, but other than that I’m cool with it. For now.

I could not deal with that many emails showing up on my main screen! I would freak and then send them all to the trash because I would be too annoyed to go through them all lol…I am not in the mood for winter mainly because I do not want snow.

I actually stay very much on top of my work email, which is the picture you’re seeing. I went to bed with zero emails one night and woke up to that. Crazy!! Thankfully most of them were spam so I was able to delete them.

    Hey, you deleted my email!!!!
Just kidding, haha. But it woke you up, right?
I need zzz’s as well. I returned from vacation on Monday and already hava lack of sleep like an owl. I mean, they don’t sleep at night, so that’s what I don’t do either currently.
I didn’t even unpack my hand luggage yet. Let’s hope Momma doesn’t come for a surprise visit tomorrow.
Other than that, I feel excited for my first spiced wine at the xmas market on Saturday.

That was my work email so no fear of ever deleting your email. And since it was work, I went through all those. Quickly because most of them were spam, but I went through them nonetheless.

I hope you get some sleep soon. That shit is important.

I have concerns Oscar is going to try and eat the tree. It’s either that or he’ll be terrified of it. I never know with him. He’s special.

I want you to know, your current life is stressing me out. LOL… you do so much in a week, it makes me feel like a turtle. And kudos to you for pulling out all those lamps to do your images with.

I’d just be cool with grainy ones, but then I”m lazy.

I guess that’s me lately…. a little lazy, a little foggy and a annoyed with social media.

This week my own life is stressing me out, and I’m exhausted, so I think some turtle action might be in order.

If it helps, the night light pictures didn’t come out and I had to reshoot the picture in my driveway this morning. Oh well, I’ll figure out those night lights one day. 🙂

You are brave on that ladder – I always let my husband do the outside lights – just watching him on the roof and tall ladders freaks me out!

My husband doesn’t like heights so I’m the one who scurries up the ladder, while he waits nervously below.

I love your yoga pose in heels and a pencil skirt (not easy given its shape!) I was busting out some impromptu yoga the other day and nearly split my jeans trying to do one legged dog. Alas, I will stick to leggings.

Yes, yoga and leggings play much better together than jeans and pencil skirts. I hope you’re getting settled and back into a groove at home. 🙂

A vacation sounds soooo nice right now. I probably wouldn’t do anything either. Just lay on a beach for days with a book and a cocktail. Maybe some sun screen too because my porcelain ass would burn.
