WIAW: The Musical Edition

March 18, 2015 by Meghan 85 Comments

♫ “I get around. Round and round, round we go. Round and round, round we go.” ♫

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

Suffice to say or really sing, What I Ate Wednesday has hopped on the crazy train and is now a game of musical chairs. Since Jenn had the foresight to put me in charge (what was she smoking?) I get to set the rules, which means today, we’re getting down hip hop style. Better put yo’ rap kicks on.

New to the party or have no idea what I’m talking about. It’s ok, I hardly ever know either. Head here for more info and remember to send a little love to our hostess with the mostess, Ms. Jenn. Without her, there would be no WIAW and our world would be a sadder place filled with unicorn droppings.

Now, I’m well aware our weekly affair has crossed some lines lately and gotten a little crazy ♫ up in here, up in here. Y’all gon’ make me lose my mind ♫ but if you want to join the WIAW link up party, a little song and dance is now required.* Y’all got shake yo’ money maker. Bonus points if it involves tassels or tricks.

A simple day of eats and a musical medley is your ticket into this event. ♫ You can find me in the club, bottle full of bub. Look mami I got the [yolks] if you into [eating eggs]. ♫

Microphone check.

*Alright fine, spoil my fun. A musical ditty is not essential. A full day of eats is though, preferably in meal order. I am Type A after all.

Breakfast: two cuties, farmers market Cinnamon Raisin Toast smeared with butter, coffee and lists. My Sunday morning bliss.

Cinnamon Raisin Toast, Clementines, Coffee and ListsLunch: Two fried eggs with leftovers from last night’s dinner at El Carnicero: cumin roasted carrots, onions and bell peppers, black beans, and guacamole. It’s possible some not photographed chips and salsa found their way into my mouth too. It was a stampede. I could barely hold them back.

Fried Eggs, Black Beans, Cumin Roasted Carrots, and Guacamole

Dinner: a delicious pile of Cheddar Scalloped Potatoes, a side of broccoli and a small spinach salad with feta, sesame seeds, and blueberries from my deep freezer.

Cheddar Scalloped Potatoes, Spinach Salad and Broccoli Dinner

Dessert: in an obvious display of generosity, I split the last half of the Venezuela Dark Chocolate bar with the Hubby.

Hello Cocoa Cholate Bars

Drops mic.

Your turn. Get yo’ rap on.

I need to try that dark chocolate, I’m always interested in new dark chocolate yum! That lunch, of course, you might guess is right up my alley. The eggs look so perfect! I’ve been eating so many oranges lately and I can’t get enough of the little easy peel seedless ones. The best. I love how your lyrics clearly link us to the same fab generation. Good throw back!

Over the past month I have just been consuming baked eggs like nobodies business, I love finding new ways to cook them.
I don’t blame you for allowing that stampede to happen. I had the same experience with a mango the other day. The bf and I cut one up for dessert and he decided to sit on the other couch… lets just say when he got the bowl there were only two pieces left.

i could throw down a brick of that dark chocolate, yo. i would take that brick and just rub it till it melts then it’d go down easier… my dark chocolate love sauce. yes, those were totally inappropriate details on what i’d do to chocolate. yes.

It doesn’t simpler than fried eggs, and I love that you can eat them for pretty much any meal.

    So. worth. Savouring this weekend.

Stop making me want to consider Cleveland for other factors besides you. PS- You’re also the only blogger who uses butter on toast which ACTUALLY shows. The breadsmith needs to throw a pie at you for cheating on them 😉

I got a half dozen English Muffins from the Breadsmith yesterday so they still get my business too. They are sooooo good.

Confession: sometimes I eat bread just so I can have butter.
