WIAW: The I Don’t Care; I Love It Edition

December 4, 2013 by Meghan 34 Comments

I don’t care. I love it.

That was a random first sentence. Or maybe not. I guess I should warn you I’m near delirious this morning. I worked an obscene amount of hours yesterday (thirteen in a seventeen hour period), yet somehow still managed to get to the gym, where I got my glutes kicked, almost literally, in a Lower Body Blast class. My non-ass ass hurts in places I didn’t know were possible, and I don’t mean that in a double entendre kind of way. I’m just giving you a frame of reference for my current mental state. It’s shaky at best.

wiaw sensible snacking button

Happy What I Ate Wednesday. I’m sharing another full day of food, my Monday eats to be exact. Now before I get to the main course, because  I never get straight to the point, I have a disclaimer.

I was home alone on Monday and apparently craving all the starchy things. Not only were my veggies missing, but so were my snacks and with them a number of calories I’d normally consume. What can I say? Some days I eat less, some days I eat more, and this particular day I fell on the former end of the spectrum. Since my weight hardly fluctuates I can assure you, I always make up for it in the end.

Why the disclaimer then? I don’t want to trigger anybody working through food issues. While I stand behind my Monday eats, I certainly can’t say they were balanced or enough, and not something I’d recommend on a daily basis. They were good though, and at the end of the day……

I don’t care. I Love it.

Buckeyes make me proud to be an Ohioan. Something deliciously awesome for an awesome state.

Entendre- looked it up. New word for the day. You always teach me something new Meghan 😉

I kind of figured that’s why your hand was in the bagel picture. As someone who is always wondering exactly how big a food is in a picture (especially some people’s cereal bowls which I swear are the size of salad bowls… Haha. No shame), I thank you.

Favorite breakfast food… Waffles. I am not going to think about it too much or I will surely change my mind!

I love Buckeyes! They make me want to live in Ohio forever. The Hubby being a native Ohioan doesn’t hurt either.

Double entendres are fun; I’m glad I taught them to you. My English teacher would be so proud.

I actually find food photographs better on smaller plates, dishes, etc. It makes it look bigger and more fulfilling or something. When I use big plates I find it dwarfs the food, although I’m definitely using a big plate in the first breakfast picture. The Buckeye picture was on a teeny tiny espresso cup plate. I also think circle shaped food (like pancakes) look better on square plates. I think it makes the pancakes stand out more, and those little tidbits are just for you Madison. I suspect you’ll appreciate them and maybe try a couple.
Hope you’re having a great weekend.

You’re the second person on WIAW that I’ve read who had sweet potatoes with eggs for breakfast. Some others had brussel sprouts. I think I’m in love with the combo. Need to try it. Have a great day, My Dear!!

I’m a huge fan of brussel sprouts, which is odd since I never touched them when I was growing up.

I threw that shit into my mouth and shoved it down my throat…. I know it’s hump day and all but you just sent my mind all kinds of places and it’s only 8am :0

Side note I love that you’re a breakfast bitch, this looks like a perfectly delicious day of eats to me, and carb heavy is totally a winter thing, right?

I certainly think so. I always want all the starchy carbs come wintertime.

Breakfast has become my favorite meal and I typically have breakfast for dinner once or twice a week. I would love to have more time to consume breakfast, but then it would be too early to eat.

Love breakfast foods but seeing as I ate pasta (the four cheese one!) for breakfast the other day, I don’t know if any of my meals AREN’T breakfast meals.

I love it! I love it!! Ahhh! Do it again! I love it! 😀

Best WIAW post ever! I haven’t had any kind of bagel in forever (I’m assuming protein bagels and bagel THINS don’t count…because they don’t in my mind)! I used to eat them all the time in high school and college…until I turned over the package one day and got a good look at the calorie count! 😯 Truth be told, that’s still one of the items on my fear food list, but one day…one day will smother a blueberry one in cream cheese annddddd I’ll love it! I’ll love it!

But honestly, I’d take that Buckeye bar over a bagel ANY day! Buckeyes are my weakness!

You’re right. Protein bagels and bagel thins absolutely don’t count. Bagels are so delicious I’m sorry they’re on your fear food list at all. Maybe try them as a sandwich to start since you are fabulous at making those.

I’d take it all, and the song is stuck in my head. Dang it, I never snuck my birthday bagel in this week. Well, perhaps Monday or Tuesday the spouse and I can go on a bagel run . . . for me (he doesn’t partake) so I can get my fix before the braces-wearing kids . . . .

wait a minute–you’re not supposed to eat bagels with your grill, young lady!!! I’m telling your orthodontist on you!

Now I’ve distracted myself from my point. Want eggs. ‘Nuf said.

Don’t tell me orthodontist. Man if they only knew the things I eat…pretty much every single bread product they’ve banned. It’s also why it tasted so delicious too and of course the same reason I proceeded to eat an everything bagel for dinner three nights in a row. Banned foods make me feel crazy in a fun way.
