WIAW: The Double Day Edition

August 19, 2015 by Meghan 39 Comments

I had every intention of writing a fabulously witty introduction for What I Ate Wednesday today.

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

Alas, my brain had other plans. Don’t you hate it when that happens?

Either way, I figured I’m not going to let a silly thing like my mental state stop me from posting, not when I have back to back days to share. Boom.

On the off chance you forgot (surely that’s not the case), last week I shared a random Friday of food with the promise of the very next day to come. Two days for the price of one. It’s a buy one, get one free sale, minus the spending any money part. Hello, it doesn’t get much sexier than that, unless of course you count the time I shared an entire week of eats. Yeah, that was hot and to be totally honest, downright exhausting.

Back to back days though, I can do those no problem.

You’ll find my Friday eats here, and my Saturday eats below.

Happy What I Ate Wednesday. Thank you Arman for hosting today’s shenanigans and Jenn for creating the party.

First Breakfast: water, warm lemon water, two cups of coffee with a dash of milk and a dollop of sugar.

Coffee, Almond Milk and Raw Sugar

Second Breakfast: a post run smoothie with frozen pineapple, blueberries, a banana, spinach, flax powder and a scoop or three of full fat plain Greek yogurt.

Pineapple, Spinach, Blueberry, Banana and Greek Yogurt Smoothie

Third Breakfast: I split a five egg omelet with the Hubby, which was packed with artichokes, kalamata olives, onions, tomatoes and feta cheese. On the side, I had fingerling potatoes and more spinach, this time lightly dressed.

Greek Omelet, Fingerling Potatoes and Spinach

Snackage: I’ve been recipe testing so fistfuls, er I mean dainty handfuls, of chocolate granola and candied walnuts may have found their way into my mouth.

Double Chocolate Cocout Granola

Candied Roasted Walnuts

Dinner: was outstanding. I paired fresh Spicy Black Bean and Cheddar ravioli from Ohio City Pasta (The Best!) with a light sauce of raw tomatoes, onions, cilantro and green onions with some plain Greek yogurt subbing in for sour cream. It was phenomenal, and I ate this plate times two, so basically the one in the front and the one in the back.

Ohio City Black Bean Cheddar Raviolo with Raw Tomato Sauce

There you have it, a day of edibles. If you want to see my meals for the day directly before all this, head here. I’ll let you in on a secret: it was another good one.

Happy What I Ate Wednesday.

I am a major fan of multiple breakfasts. While I was hiking in the Lake District this weekend, my friend and I gorged on full English breakfasts at our B&B and also carried many, many snacks with us to basically breakfast through til lunch.
