I hope you’ve got your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.
The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. Itβs an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back.
Need more details? Head here.
In the meantime, let’s get listing:
- The absolute highlight of my week was hosting my favorite Spoon for a handful of days. She was a hit with the whole household, minus my one fluffy kitty, who likes no one except me. Oscar gave her two paws up, and the Hubby said we should keep her.
- We went hiking.
- We traversed treacherous terrain.
- We leapt entire streams in a single bound.
- And we only fell once. Alright fine, I only fell once and now have two lovely bruises to show for it.
- We walked.
- We talked.
- And we held a photo shoot in a windstorm because that’s not at all awkward.
- We indulged our inner book worms with a trip to the local library.
- We lounged fireside more than once.
- And we puzzled, quite literally.
- We made granola. Banana Bread Granola to be exact.
- We ate an obscene amount of Chipotle.
- And we also inhaled a boatload of greens, sectional salad style.
Your turn. I want to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.
What three things did you accomplish yesterday? Yesterday, I did laundry, made pesto, and photographed a recipe for the blog.
Jen @ Chase the Red Grape says
OMG I’m first on the link up list… I think this may have just made my day!
Your photos are beautiful, the fall leaves, the crisp water and 2 pretty lassies π

I know I’m thrilled for you. I was trying to get it up early enough it would be an agreeable time for you too. I love how the water picture turned out, and I was so sorry to see Amanda go. We had a fantastic trip.

This looks indeed like a pretty awesome week! Minus all the hiking maybe π
Oh those photo shoots in the wind. I’ve some pretty not-so-epic windy pictures that make me question my ability to control my facial expressions alltogether. With this in mind you two look pretty good π

I promise we won’t do any hiking. π
Hell, I expect it to be very cold when you come to town, although I know you’re used to that. Somehow we’ll manage just fine. Maybe a little Harry Potter in front of the fire.

I am well prepared for colder weather though I am a bit nervous regarding the flights. I hope the weather won’t mess up my itinerary. But I always worry about this.

Are you the one with the pink socks? We have the exact same shape of feet. This is quite exciting. Okay so I had to do my Mileage Monday this morning but I’ll post the week in review tonight and link up then. It’s already typed out and everything, I just have to hit publish. Yay!

I am the one with pink socks, and I usually try to straighten my feet for pictures since they look all crooked and twisted, and I don’t even run. At least not often enough to have twisted and crooked feet.
I’m thrilled you joined, and I loved your post. I hope you come back next week. Blows kiss.

Can we do it all again!?!??! Those 4 days went by WAY too fast, and I feel like we didn’t get nearly enough time together. Having my coffee at Bux this morning instead of your dining room table felt all sorts of wrong. Grumbles.

It did go way too fast.
There’s a spot at the dining room table whenever you’re ready to come back. Oscar will keep the seat warm for you.

Kirsten says
Since I post recipes and not . . . non-recipes, I will provide by WIR in the form of . . . . a comment.
First, 3 things I accomplished yesterday:
1. I developed a new method to store my frozen pesto, one that should keep each individual lump free of ice crystals while simultaneously allowing me to only defrost the amount that I need.
2. I pulled all of my pepper plants that were heading into frost damage territory and removed a bountiful pile of peppers. I gave a few to my neighbors and dropped the rest at the Foodbank this morning.
3. I nagged my kids into cleaning the stove, then, while they were both off doing Good Works, I tweaked their efforts so that the stove was pretty darn clean. Then, sadly, we utterly trashed it when the Ikea bag in the freezer turned out NOT to be meatballs and we had to scurry at the last minute to find a meat to satisfy my daughter, as she didn’t want gravy, potatoes, green beans and . . . Swedish pancakes.
Next–the week.
1. I made chili powder. Yes, this Little Red Hen grew the peppers (and got more from the farm share), dried the peppers, ground the peppers, and made her own effing chili powder. Shazam.
2. I put up a whole bunch of stuff.
3. I chose NOT to put up ALL THE THINGS and instead to enjoy the last of the tomatoes in daily BLTs.
4. I survived another week of flying solo.
Have a lovely one, Meg!

Can you send your kids this way. My stove needs a good scrubbing too. Also, do tell about the new pesto freezing method.
Daily BLT’s are the way to go with those last homegrown tomatoes.
Flying solo ain’t easy, even if you are an old pro at it. Job well done.

Blog buds plus hiking plus Chipotle sounds like a recipe for a great week! Also The Art of Racing in the Rain is a GREAT read! It made me want to get a dog SO badly.
3 things I accomplished yesterday: cleaned our condo after the previous night’s baseball watching party, made lentil and sausage soup, and… I can’t think of a 3rd thing because yesterday was pretty much just spent hungover on the couch all day haha.
