Week In Review Button Final

The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back.

Need more details? Head here. ♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫

Let’s get listing:

  • The Hubby and I wrapped all the presents while binge watching episodes of Breaking Bad.

Holiday Wrapping Paper and Supplies

Breaking Bad

  • We followed it up the next day with a pizza date at Mellow Mushroom.

Mellow Mushroom Mediterannean Pizza

  • We made Orange Cranberry White Chocolate Scones for the neighbors. It’s safe to say we kept one or two for ourselves.

Orange Cranberry White Chocolate Scones

  • We had dinner at Crop Bistro with friends, where I happily ate Balsamic Popcorn and Pumpkin Ravioli.

  • We drove to Buffalo and back to see my family and spend time with my boys, Rooster and Hudson.

  • We celebrated four Christmas’ in three days, including one at our own house.

  • In other non-holiday news, I signed up for the 2016 CSA season. Hooray veggies.

Sumer-2013-CSA-Week-Eight

  • I also tried on piles of maternity clothes, paid bills, balanced checkbooks, and hit up Breadsmith for English Muffin Bread (swoon) and Nature’s Bin for fruits and veggies (face plant).
  • Over the course of the week, I managed to sneak in a decent walk and a short run.

Meg Run

  • Last but certainly not least, I spent half of Sunday decompressing on the couch with the cats and a fire.

Aw shucks. Thanks Michele. It’s because my family lets me take as many pictures as I want, including moving stuff to different rooms for better light, opening blinds or standing on chairs. They’re pretty awesome those guys.

Yes please recipe for the scones! I am a sucker for them!!! I feel like no one eats them anymore because oatmeal is this huge thing. I will take a scone over oats any day! There was so much food at your house! It all looks amazing! When you say Buffalo, that is NY right? I grew up there!!! Such a great city, really good food!

The scones are my step mom’s recipe. They’re one of my favorites too, full of all my favorite things: orange, white chocolate, butter, buttermilk…mmmmm.

Yep, Buffalo New York. It was a great city to grow up in and I love the revitalization going on there now.

All the things!! You always make your pictures of veggies and fruit just as tantalizing as the christmas treats/calzones/pizzas. Such beautiful photographs of beautifully put together tables. So many amazing looking treats. And that restaurant!? Um, did you travel back to the Renaissance? That room is incredible. Glad that, amidst a busy week, you were still able to relax down with your “boys”, get out for a lovely walk and even still end it with your feet up and your fireplace. 🙂

That’s good because I happen to think the fruits and veggies are just as tantalizing as the sweets and Stromboli. My family does balance well.

The restaurant is in an old bank building. There are lofty ceilings with marble surroundings…it’s pretty cool.
