Week in Review: The Momentous Edition (#75)

March 20, 2017 by Meghan 60 Comments

Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.

The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Need more details? Head here.

♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫

Let’s get listing:

It was a week of momentous occasions so it only seems fitting to document them here.

First and foremost, it was my birthday; I see no need to reveal which one. Let’s just say I’m incredibly wise (cough, cough), even if I still get my sticker on.

It was also the first time I celebrated my birthday with my family in more than 20 years because we spent the weekend with them in Buffalo, where my father made his famous baklava. It tasted like butter, honey and my childhood. It was just as sweet and satisfying as I remember.

After owning my Kindle for what feels like eons, I finally linked it up to an online library and promptly downloaded five new books. Squeal.

I went out and about without the tiny dictator…twice. I even put on makeup and earrings. This is huge.

We did some things together though. In fact, last week was Ave’s first time getting kicked out of a bar (not mine, although I’ve got a few years on her). Apparently, you have to be 21 to sit at the bar, even when you’re the designated driver. I think the bow makes her look at least 22.

Speaking of my mini-minion, she pooped in the bathtub…when the two of us were in it together.

It. Touched. Me.

Suffice to say, she made my birthday a night I’ll never forget.

And on that note…

It’s your turn. I’d love to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.

OMG I love this post. Your planner puts mine to shammmmme. My sis in law got me one and sent me stickers and I’m horrible at keeping up with it. UM YOUR EARINGS + LIPS + FACE = GORGEOUS. Baby poop… its happens. At least you could get squeaky clean right away??

ALSO YAY FOR HOOKING UP YOUR KINDLE. I use my Kindle, iPad, and phone to get all the books. It is the besttttttt. Welcome to the dark side.

(Just finished audiobook Nightwoods by Charles Frazier (he wrote Cold Mountain which I will never get over, so good) and it was fabulous- recommend it. Now I’m listening to Confessions of a Shopaholic which is freakin’ hilarious. It is one I can re-listen/re-read several times)

Aw thank you lovely. I appreciate the compliment especially since I so rarely put on a full face of make up these days.

I’ve added the Frazier books to my list. I’m reading Casual Vacancy right now by J.K. Rawlings, and I love the entire Shopaholic series. It’s fantastically funny. Have you read Razor Girl yet? If not, DO. IT. So hilarious.

Jonas pooped on me AND his sister in the tub last week and then did it again after the full rinse off. Sigh. I love it that Ave got kicked out of a bar and that you got to wear makeup AND be with family in one weekend. Best birthday ever. We had Charlie’s bday party yesterday which was exhausting but so fun. His friends from school came which melted my heart.

Hahaha you definitely need to come to Germany. We have been at bars with babies multiple times and it has never been an issue. Some even have high chairs. Poor Ave all dressed up for a date with her mommy and then that! I am glad you still got your time out even if it was the next day.

One of my nieces pooped on me only minutes after I changed because she had peed on me before. Lessons learned about playing with naked babies. At least you were already in the bath tub 😉

    Happy Birthday again my dear!

Make up, earrings, and books definitely sound like momentous occasions. And homemade baklava. Yum!

I guess mom life really acclimates you to poo in all forms. But as an auntie x3, I feel pretty acclimated to poo too. I can’t tell you have many times I’ve changed a diaper and experienced a mini explosion mid-change. Poo everywhere, Meg. Everywhere.
