Week in Review: (#118)

February 5, 2018 by Meghan 26 Comments

Get you pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.

The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Need more details? Head here.

♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫

Let’s get listing:

We did our usual trio of classes: swim lessons, story time and music. I’m so grateful to be able to do all these activities with Ave, partially because it’s a relief to have someone/something else be her source of entertainment, if only for thirty minutes. Bonus points for learning new skills and songs along the way.

(Classing so hard.)

We celebrated the Hubby’s birthday, complete with not one, but two dinners. For first dinner, I had a veggie burger with sweet potato fries and then later on in the evening I had a side of tater tots smothered in munster cheese and dipped in ketchup. I will never turn down tots. Hashtag spud love.

Ave and I also made the Hubby a homemade chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and topped with Reese pieces and peanut butter cups. It was super moist and rich without being overly sweet. I’d make this cake again in a heartbeat.

I did an impressive job shaking my bon-bon, or more formally known as exercise. I hit up the elliptical three days, swam a little over a half mile, and got my meditation on in yoga. It’s been far too long, and it felt wonderful.

We spent the vast majority of the weekend running errands or curled up on the couch, since Ave was fighting off some congestion, either due to a cold or teething. Time will tell.

Now it’s your turn. I’d love to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.

What is something you accomplished in the last week? Big or small. What’s your favorite cake combo? Would you turn down tater tots?

I’m not sure what half a mile in a pool looks like, but it sounds damn impressive. So glad you got your yoga in this week and some therapeutic sweat sessions. Pass me some tater tots, k?

I’d share my tots with you any day of the week and twice on Tuesday. Lucky for you it’s Tuesday.

Second dinner is sometimes necessary, especially when tater tots are involved. Pass me a slice of cake too, please.

I hope Ave is just cutting some teeth instead of getting sick. I feel for toddlers because I have a wisdom tooth that occasionally thinks about breaking through – teething makes me cranky too.

Well I’m pretty sure she is cutting teeth AND sick. She’s been coughing lots and is so damn congested. It’s tough because there’s very little I can do to help. Poor kid.

Love Aves enthusiasm for Happy Birthday cake baking! Showing her Daddy some love! She she sure is all in’ for whatever you’ve got in mind! And I also love her little sweetheart fleece jacket.

Potatoes are not my downfall! They’re my great food category where I get lots of minerals and fiber! I enjoy them often! If on occasion they might have been fried, well….I ..uh.. just a few? My husband has wicked fast hand once I give the signal, lol!

Potatoes are my spirit animal. I’d eat them with every meal if I could. Alright, maybe not dessert but you know what I mean.

Me too! And one more thing…is Munster a midwestern thing? I love that stuff! But why isn’t it ever really highlighted anywhere? It is a natural on any spud, in quiche, grilled cheese, out of hand, on crackers, and you can never argue the price.

Tater tots are one of the very few exceptions to my “I hate potatoes” rule. Dipped in ranch and topped with hot sauce. Mmmm…

I really want that cake though. My birthday is July 15th. Just sayin’.

I love her knitted hat!!! And yay for activities. I feel you. I’ll take a potato any which way I really don’t mind how they arrive yo my tummy. As long as their seasoned or have sauce.
We have entered into the world of the potty because lulu is so uber curious about that business that I got her a potty. Right now she is helping her baby doll and teddy bear use it but hey it’s a start 🙂
Don’t you just love people born in late Jan and early mid February??? I sure do teehee.

I really really hope Ave feels better soon. I hate being sick and hate seeing the people I love being sick. I can only imagine how hard it must be as a mother seeing your child be unwell. Makes me feel for my poor mum all those times my brother and I just cried and cried because we felt so bad.

Mmm tater tots. I had those large rectangle type of hash browns for breakfast earlier this week and even though I’m pretty sure they’re basically a tater tot in larger form, I still prefer tater tots. 😛 Also covered in cheese? Yes please!

Even though I’m not a big peanut butter person, I would try that cake just because of Ave’s face! Very impressive.
I’ve been digging my yoga and meditation time too. Glad you have more time to get back into it.

My in-laws watch Ave two days a week which allows me the time to squeeze a yoga class or two. I am so grateful for them.
