Week in Review: The Out and About Edition (#149)

September 10, 2018 by Meghan 18 Comments

Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.

The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Need more details? Head here.

♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫

Let’s get listing:

We went to the dentist and got our teeth cleaned. There’s no truth to the rumor we spent the next four days eating sugar candy. Whatever you do, don’t tell my hygienist.

Ave and I met up with a girlfriend and indulged in a lascivious latte, although I’m the only one who actually drank the caffeinated cup of joy.

(My new favorite coffee shop: duck-rabbit coffee.)

I got my hair cut and colored. I went short on the sides while keeping some of the curls on top, which is the best of both worlds for me.

(The very posed and stylized version of my new haircut; the head shot if you will.)

I met up with one of my girlfriend’s for lunch and a quick stroll. It was so nice to catch up while also exploring a new area.

(The actual version of my hair cut, caught in the raw. For the record, I like both.)

I indulged in an evening out with some other lovely ladies. We drank porch beers or really rose’ while gloriously gabbing and noshing on tasty bites late into the night.

The following evening I hosted the bestie for a few hours. More wine and conversation ensued.

Aside from the shenanigans, I spent every other free minute hustling on my new business: City Hippie. I made four different kinds of granola, printed out labels, packaged it all and unloaded all but three bags. If I keep this up, I might make it out of the red soon.

Last but not least, we spent grandparents day (Sunday) hanging out with the people who matter the most.

Now it’s your turn. I’d love to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.

I will have to start looking for that “lascivious latte” around here. Sounds heavenly! 🙂 Love your new do. And…grandma kisses are the best. I crave them constantly.

Grandma kisses are the best. I’d be lost without my in-laws.

I sure look forward to Mondays, and your Week in Review! I love hearing about City Hippie Granola and all the rest of your week. That Gramma kiss from Ave just made my day! Nothing better than being a grandparent.

You are the best Mary, the cat’s pajamas, the read deal. I’m looking forward to seeing you this weekend. Blows kiss.

DAAAMNNN that hair!! ALL those hairs! That is some sexy do there mama.

I also got my hair cut this week – so we are syncing again. I wasn’t as impressed with mine. But meh, I’m moving on.

And I’m glad you saw so many of your ladies this week to show it off! So many wonderful sounding friend dates, with obviously wonderful snacks and drinkables. I like this week very much.

Lastly – I bought a large batch of oats this week, specifically to (finally) make a batch of your granola. If you had to choose one of your recipes for me to start with, what would it be?

Ahhh you’re gonna make the granola. I’m thrilled. I love the banana bread because it’s easy to make and uses dates and banana chips, some of my favorites, although you couldn’t go wrong with the Peanut butter chocolate chip (the Hubby’s favorite) or any of them really. I can’t wait to hear what you think. Blows kiss.

It’s banana shorts right?! Sometimes I’m still surprised when I see the City Hippie logo. Surprised and happy.

Very cute haircut! I have taken Squish to the dentist already but that was when she was younger and would sit on my lap in the chair. Kinda putting off making another appointment for her (just a checkup) but I know I just have to do it. Her dentist is awesome – she’s a singing dentist (!) And the lobby is like a playland for kids. A far cry from the dentist I went to as a kid and the single kids book they had about the bear making too much popcorn that we would read over and over again each year. I remember thinking maybe this year they will have a new book! Lol

A singing dentist. I want one of those!!

Ave just sat in the chair and they looked in her mouth but that was about it. Just trying to get her comfortable with the whole idea.

Your haircut looks awesome! So you! And I don’t know what it is, but I have always loved coffee shops with animals in the name. Just instantly so much better!

Yes and Duck-rabbit is one of the best. Two animals for the price of one.

Your social life rocked last week! Some very much earned adult time that I hope left you feeling super refreshed.
We had a week off last week and it was a dream. Just a good old stay cation with lots of day trips and time at home. Blissful, calm and just what we needed. Back to normal today though… And I’m already tired! Ha!

Staycations are some of my favorite vacations. Full of adventures but also with the comforts of home. They’re great for recharging too.
