Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.
The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫
Let’s get listing:
I hosted a pajama party on Monday night with some of my favorite ladies. We sat in front of the fireplace in our comfy clothes, ate all the cheese, drank all the wine and conversed about life. It was lovely and everything I needed.
Not to be outdone, I put on actual pants and attended a sponsored cocktail tasting at Town Hall. While I’m not a huge fan of their politics, their drinks are on point. Afterwards, I decided to make the most of being dressed and child free, so I caught up with near and dear friends I haven’t seen in a minute. It was the highlight of my evening.
The tiny human and I did all our regular run of the mill activities (play pretend times a thousand, stalk poor Oscar, color, craft and who knows what else), but the most exciting thing was going to see Santa at Cabela’s. Ave was super pumped until we got close, and then she opted to stand near him instead of sitting on his lap because he was a “little bit scary.” I can’t really blame her; it’s a weird tradition forcing young children to sit on a stranger’s lap.
(It’s like her face is saying, “Um, this dude is sketchy.)
Last week wasn’t all hustle and bustle though. I made sure to include lots of snuggle time with Oscar, partially to make up for Ave chasing him around the house like a maniac. Thankfully, she’s not quick enough to catch him.
It was also another big week for City Hippie. I made and bagged my largest order to date, this time for Breadsmith, my favorite local bakery. I’m so excited they’re carrying my granola.
The highlight of the week though was getting and decorating the Christmas tree. We had a blast, and Ave was over the moon excited the entire time.
Now it’s your turn. I’d love to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.
What did you accomplish last week? How do you celebrate the holidays?
You know how to Monday! A friends’ night with wine and cheese? Oh, yes! The drinks from Town Hall look absolutely delicious too. I clicked on your link and visited their website, Couldn’t figure out what you don’t like about their politics. It seems like their organic/non-GMO vibe would fit right in with your City Hippie ethos. Maybe there is something I don’t know…Have a great week with Ave! I think Santa looks a little shady too. I would not sit on his lap either.

You would think their hipster vibe would align with my politics, but alas they do not. Their owner spoke out at a city council meeting against the LGBTQ community and the restaurant said their views don’t align with his, but he owns the joint so….?

I feel like I don’t even need to do a update because we did all the same things over here (minus the granola – so exciting that one of your favorite places is carrying it!). Got a tree, Santa pics (it is a slightly weird tradition, and I love Ave ‘s pic), caught up with friends minus the toddler, tried to make it up to the cats for being chased. Their favorite time of the day is her naptime. . We also went to symphony and a movie which was so fun! We watched the 2nd Harry Potter movie while the symphony played the score from the movie.

The friend date minus the toddler must have been the highlight. Then again all the holiday shenanigans make things pretty magical right now too.
Nap time is also my favorite.

Oh I am SO jazzed to hear you had not only one, but two, social evenings with good friends. Pajama parties with wine, cheese and fabulous ladies are everything us women need. Did you kick the hubby out of the house? Or did he get on his jimmy jams, too?
I’m equally as jazzed to hear you’ve gotten into Breadsmith!! That’s like, me acting with Johnny Depp. The queen of bakery land. (PS my bundle is arriving this week… )
Santa pics are kind of weird, aren’t they? Ave’s got a good head on her shoulders.
The Hubby hung with the tiny human and then headed off to bed early. 🙂
THANK YOU for scoring some of the granola and for sharing it on social media as well. You’re a rock star and I so very much appreciate the support.

A big fat YAY for Breadsmith stocking your granola! That’s incredible! I think you should pitch granola gelato to The Sweet Spot next 😀
I love how excited the kids can get about Christmas. Every time I saw my niece Vicky this year she asked if I get the ‘magical nail polish’ again for Christmas. It’s a red sparkly thermo gel that changes color and she gets all kinds of excited about it and it usually ends with me spending a good amount of time in the bathroom with her where I have to hold my hands under warm and cold water again and again…
I never really got this sitting on Santa’s lap too. As a child I would have never ever in a million years done that. And Ave’s is totally right. It’s scary!
I have a pajama party with two of my girlfriends planned for next week. It’s probably the girliest thing I can imagine doing.
Pajama party for the win. I know you’ll enjoy it and I will live vicariously through you.
Off to perfect my pitch for The Sweet Spot. God, how I love them too.

So excited for you!!! Breadsmith is lucky to have you. Are you getting free bread as part of the agreement? HA!

I wish I got free bread, but then I’d also end up being three hundred pounds so it’s for the best.

Ave’s face beside the Christmas tree… so much love! And she certainly loves her Christmas carols… such a beautiful time of the year.
I am so excited you are in Breadsmiths… you can often ‘check on stock’ aka I’m in here for the samples 😉
She’s been singing Jingle Bells or some variation of it for four days straight now. To think, we have weeks still to go. 🙂
