Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.
The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Holy Shit, Christmas is only a week away!!!
This month is flying by in a flurry of holiday frenzy, frothy beverages and friend time, all of my favorites.
Heads up: I’ll be skipping our Week In Review post for the next two Mondays since they fall on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. I’d rather spend my time frolicking with family and I’m sure you want to do the same.
(Have you hugged a Nutcracker today?)
On that note, let’s get listing:
Last week, we had friends over for a play date. Pizza for the kids, wine for the moms.
I also had a follow up appointment with my psychologist, which is good since I lost my temper with the tiny human yet again, and now she walks around the house saying, “I’ve had enough.” Mother of the year right here. Sigh.
Ave and I went grocery shopping at Lucky’s and visited our friend, the waving kitty cat. It’s a must see every time we go.
I hurt my ankle again. Yes, the same one I sprained just a while ago and by doing pretty much the same thing; rolling it out while walking down stairs. Thankfully, it’s nowhere near as bad as last time and I’m hoping to be boot free soon.
(Special thanks to my in-laws who rushed right over and peeled me off the front stoop.)
I mailed out one hundred holiday cards and did a holy crapton of shopping. I’m almost totally done buying presents which is awesome considering Christmas is only a week away. Have I mentioned that already? Gah!!
Speaking of gift giving, I made and packaged up a bunch of City Hippie granola orders with lots more work in sight. Bring on the oat and nut clusters.
Last week the whole family also helped serve a community meal in our neighborhood. Ave is the youngest and cutest volunteer and gets to pass out the bread. Unfortunately, five minutes into the meal, she had to “take a break.” This generation. Oi.
I did laundry, more than I thought we even owned. Seriously it took hours to fold. Hashtag I’m so glamorous.
Ave and I met up with an old friend and her daughter for cookies and coffee.
I visited Thai Thai specifically so I could experience their limited edition Christmas Bubble Tea. It was as magical and whimsical as it looks.
I had a popcorn and Mickey Mouse movie date with Ave, probably her favorite moment of the week. The girl loves television.
My favorite moment though was ringing in the holiday with friends on Saturday night. We laughed, I worked on listening and we ate all the food. My contribution was this sassy and sexy Pomegranate Citrus Salad.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
Now it’s your turn. I’d love to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.
What did you accomplish last week? What are some of your holiday traditions?

So sorry to hear about your ankle! I think you should sit on the couch and have your family wait on you hand and foot! (Yeah, we all can dream!) I remember regretting losing my temper when my kids were little plenty of times. It’s good you’re addressing it, but it happens to all of us moms. Have a wonderful Christmas. See you next year!

So many fun things here! A unicorn grocery shopping! That amazing looking bubble tea. And 100 Christmas cards – go you! That deserves a pat on the back itself. We went to a Christmas market/pop-up brunch yesterday and it was so fun. Squish only tried to grab the breakable ornaments that were for sale one time so I consider that a success. We had gingerbread crepes with apples and coconut whipped cream, and Squish hugged a giant inflatable penguin (probably her favorite part).

I’ve lost my temper more often than I care to admit with my kiddos. Definitely working on this somewhat hereditary trait that just seems to run in my family of hot-heads. It has at least opened up some good conversations with my kids about emotions and feelings and we’ve all gotten much better about apologizing for hurtful words or otherwise, so …. that? As much as I love the holidays, they always bring more stress with them and I’m looking forward to 2019 for some necessary re-setting. Hope your holidays are marvelous!

Haha, Sorry, I am not really laughing at you or Ave for her saying “I’ve had enough!”, I just feel that feel that losing your Sh*t now and then with a very active kiddo who is in the prime of independence and stubborn meltdown and everything else difficult is absolutely the norm. I also think any mama that denies these sometimes weekly breakdowns isn’t being honest with others or even themselves.
Personally, Aves remark is not as bad as my most precocious and strong willed son (at 3 ) saying (at 4) “ spank me, I’m not listening because I don’t want to; Or I’m not going to clean that up, or, I did it and I don’t care! Or, because I punched him (little brother) and I’m not sorry). Also keep in mind these were the days when spanking was more acceptable and not questioned, though depending on how it was done, one could ‘lose it’ if not careful also and that too could be called bad parenting.
Don’t be so hard on yourself! Ave will remember all of the wonderful times you have made made sure she has! And not the few slips. You are human also. Just keep making sure that you have time to get away do your fun, which you are! It was critical for me! It soon she will be in the that wonderful age of 4, a most delicious, delightful age!

Also, please don’t mistake my remarks in meaning that you haven’t any reason to be seeing someone for help for your mental status at. all. I am sure that losing your temper with Ave is the side effect of what ever is going on with your inner self/feelings. Life is hard and has so many ups and downs and doubts in marriage and motherhood keeping ahold of who you are. I feel it myself without any children anymore and in this very scrutinized world that we live in.
I myself am so relieved to have just found out my new, upgraded insurance policy in January, after years of relying on my family doc, will begin to pays some mental health costs for me to see and get a real dx for my chronic anxiety and depression and hopefully the proper medication that will actually work. And even some therapy. Woot!

Oh no, those stairs have it out for you! Hope your ankle is back to normal again soon.
I really want some Christmas bubble tea now. I think it might be the magic cure for this cold.

Ah so much holiday fun! I love it! Also why have I never thought to hug a nutcracker?
I really hope your ankle heals up soon. Why do these things always happen at the craziest of times!
Bubble tea was everywhere in Thailand but I never had one. Actually it’s everywhere here too! Did you enjoy it? are the balls as weird as I imagine they would be?

SO glad your ankle isn’t as bad this time around! And you have to admit… Ave running around saying “I’ve had enough” IS pretty funny… 😉
Merry Christmas, friend!
