Week in Review: (#33)

May 30, 2016 by Meghan 39 Comments

Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.

The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Need more details? Head here.

Week In Review Button Final

♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫

Let’s get listing:

I’ll be honest, I have no idea where my days go. Oh wait, that would be to the baby. All of my time and energy is centered on her when she’s awake, and on those brief, yet lovely moments when she naps, I alternate between getting something to eat, sneaking in a shower or trying to steal some zzz’s. On a good day, I might even get a chance to run the vacuum, and that’s only because someone else is watching her.

Meg and Ave All Curled Up

On that note, I vacuumed the first floor and cleaned the kitchen.  Thanks for watching Ave, Mom. I sure do appreciate it.

I downloaded a Nursing App and as a result I can now track every suck, pump and bottle. Wow, that sounds way naughtier than I had intended.

At any rate, I spent 30 hours breastfeeding last week, and that doesn’t count the handful of bottle feedings she received or the times I pumped.

Breastfeeding Graph

As a result of my idle boob time, I watched the following feature films: Cold Mountain, Coroline, Fifty Shades of Grey, Hearts in Atlantis, Juno, Pan, and The Rainmaker, listed in alphabetical order because it’s one of the few things I can control these days.

I snuck in a pedicure with my mom.

Pedicure

I went to my weekly lactation support group.

I also hit up Nature’s Bin (my grocery store), Breadsmith, CVS and the local garden center for some hanging flower baskets.

The biggest accomplishment though goes to the Hubby. After years of schooling, he graduated on Sunday with a doctorate in Pharmacy.

The Hubby and Ave (Pharmacy Graduation)

As such, we had a family road trip to Pennsylvania for his graduation and a celebratory dinner with the family. It was Ave’s first time in a bar. Got to start ’em young.

Meg and Ave at the Bar

It’s your turn. I want to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.

congrats again to your husband! I am fascinated by this nursing app. I feel so dated when I say I barely even used a cell phone 12 years ago when my son was born lol. We didn’t even have texting yet, let alone smart phones. Amazing how things changed so quickly. It’s also amazing how much time and energy is needed to take care of a tiny little baby, isn’t it? you are doing amazing!

It is amazing how quickly technology has changed in the last ten years. Heck, I used to make mix tapes and now CD’s are practically non existent.

Thanks for all the support. I really do appreciate it.

Ave looks pretty darn happy to be sitting behind that pint of beer. Or she was just still so proud of seeing her Dad accept his diploma. Either way – congratulations to all of you – I hope you are all smiles.
I need to get started on my movie list. Any of those you’d particularly recommend?
Thank god for Moms eh? Glad you two got out to a pedicure to treat yourselves.

Cold Mountain was really good, although incredibly violent. I really liked Juno and Pan was pretty whimsical if you’re into that sort of thing.

Good morning Meg! How did you like 50 Shades? I’ve yet to see it, but I’m gonna have a lot of time this week so I need some recommendations. One thing I accomplished this week was my first marathon and eating my first pint of Ben and Jerrys 🙂

Fifty shades was exactly what you’d expect, so nothing mind blowing but pretty true to the first book.

OMG that is SUCH A HUGE DEAL. Congratulations to your husband! What an accomplishment! And I love that Ave can be a part of that special day. The best! She’s so cute, but I see that gleam in her eye, the one that’s running you off your feet. Hang in there, you’re doing great and I swear this will pass and I promise you that those little fighters grow up with the BEST personalities. Full and vibrant and strong and when they love, they love huge. xo

Well, you already know I wanted to be the firs to say it but either way: Major congratulations to the hubby! Time flew by, no? Is it odd I still remember you mentioning”when the hubby graduates in xx years” in a subclause of one of the first mails we exchanged? It was in context of changes already but not factoring a baby in.
Don’t tell me I was the first one to notice but Ave seems to feel quite comfortable, maybe looking a bit mischievous at the bar already. Future mum and daughter pub nights are in your future ;). I hope the time until then won’t be too bumby. You really are doing a great job.

Wow… 30 hours of just breastfeeding? No wonder most new moms are just exhausted and fried, especially since that doesn’t even count the pumping sessions (which were the worst, in my opinion).

Big congratulations to your husband as well! That’s a big achievement!

So nursing is basically a full time job. Wow. I had no idea. And I just about died over that picture of you and Ave in the bar, so I blame you for all the weird looks the people in Bux just gave me for randomly bursting out laughing. But she just looks so happy! I hope it wasn’t because she just did a poopie. A huge congrats to The Hubby as well. I know how hard BOTH of you were working for that, so you both deserve some major props. Love you <3

Nursing is a full time job and the craziest part is I was nursing for way more hours in the beginning, although I didn’t have the app back then so I have no idea how many. I’d be curious though.

She’s actually smiling for more than just poops these days. It’s pretty impressive.

Thanks sweets. I couldn’t be more proud of the Hubby, and I’m so glad this six year journey of his is drawing to a close.
