Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.
The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Need more details? Head here.
♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫
Let’s get listing:
I’ll be honest, I have no idea where my days go. Oh wait, that would be to the baby. All of my time and energy is centered on her when she’s awake, and on those brief, yet lovely moments when she naps, I alternate between getting something to eat, sneaking in a shower or trying to steal some zzz’s. On a good day, I might even get a chance to run the vacuum, and that’s only because someone else is watching her.
On that note, I vacuumed the first floor and cleaned the kitchen. Thanks for watching Ave, Mom. I sure do appreciate it.
I downloaded a Nursing App and as a result I can now track every suck, pump and bottle. Wow, that sounds way naughtier than I had intended.
At any rate, I spent 30 hours breastfeeding last week, and that doesn’t count the handful of bottle feedings she received or the times I pumped.
As a result of my idle boob time, I watched the following feature films: Cold Mountain, Coroline, Fifty Shades of Grey, Hearts in Atlantis, Juno, Pan, and The Rainmaker, listed in alphabetical order because it’s one of the few things I can control these days.
I snuck in a pedicure with my mom.
I went to my weekly lactation support group.
I also hit up Nature’s Bin (my grocery store), Breadsmith, CVS and the local garden center for some hanging flower baskets.
The biggest accomplishment though goes to the Hubby. After years of schooling, he graduated on Sunday with a doctorate in Pharmacy.
As such, we had a family road trip to Pennsylvania for his graduation and a celebratory dinner with the family. It was Ave’s first time in a bar. Got to start ’em young.
It’s your turn. I want to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.
What are three things you accomplished in the last week?
congrats again to your husband! I am fascinated by this nursing app. I feel so dated when I say I barely even used a cell phone 12 years ago when my son was born lol. We didn’t even have texting yet, let alone smart phones. Amazing how things changed so quickly. It’s also amazing how much time and energy is needed to take care of a tiny little baby, isn’t it? you are doing amazing!

It is amazing how quickly technology has changed in the last ten years. Heck, I used to make mix tapes and now CD’s are practically non existent.
Thanks for all the support. I really do appreciate it.

Ave looks pretty darn happy to be sitting behind that pint of beer. Or she was just still so proud of seeing her Dad accept his diploma. Either way – congratulations to all of you – I hope you are all smiles.
I need to get started on my movie list. Any of those you’d particularly recommend?
Thank god for Moms eh? Glad you two got out to a pedicure to treat yourselves.

Cold Mountain was really good, although incredibly violent. I really liked Juno and Pan was pretty whimsical if you’re into that sort of thing.

Good morning Meg! How did you like 50 Shades? I’ve yet to see it, but I’m gonna have a lot of time this week so I need some recommendations. One thing I accomplished this week was my first marathon and eating my first pint of Ben and Jerrys 🙂
Ellie recently posted…Oh HEY, 26.2
Congratulations on the marathon. That’s awesome.
Fifty shades was exactly what you’d expect, so nothing mind blowing but pretty true to the first book.

Congrats to your husband! That’s awesome! And what an adorable graduation photo. The gown, the hood, the baby. 🙂 Definitely worth the celebratory dinner.
Joyce @ The Hungry Caterpillar recently posted…Climb Every Mountain. But First, Clean Every Bathroom
Thanks Joyce. I really like the graduation picture too with Ave buried in her dad’s shoulder. 🙂

OMG that is SUCH A HUGE DEAL. Congratulations to your husband! What an accomplishment! And I love that Ave can be a part of that special day. The best! She’s so cute, but I see that gleam in her eye, the one that’s running you off your feet. Hang in there, you’re doing great and I swear this will pass and I promise you that those little fighters grow up with the BEST personalities. Full and vibrant and strong and when they love, they love huge. xo

Thanks Sunshine. Ave definitely has a little gleam and even a sarcastic little side smirk to match. She does it all the time when she’s sleeping and breastfeeding. I swear she’s mocking me. 🙂

Congrats to your hubby AND you! I just graduated PA school with kiddos and I know how hard the spouse works while we achieve our dreams!
Aw thanks Madeline. That is much appreciated. We all work hard to make it happen don’t we?! Congratulations to you and your spouse too!!

You have a baby! In a bar… LMAO!
You should know that I read these posts out loud every week to Vegas. We love you. And you’re out hero for having a baby in a bar.
P.S. Vegas says she has your eyes. xo
P.P.S. 30 HOURS???
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table recently posted…My Bionic Bat Shit Crazy Knee + WIAW
I also breastfed the baby in the bar. Both sides. 🙂
30 hours is an improvement compared to the first six weeks.

Well, you already know I wanted to be the firs to say it but either way: Major congratulations to the hubby! Time flew by, no? Is it odd I still remember you mentioning”when the hubby graduates in xx years” in a subclause of one of the first mails we exchanged? It was in context of changes already but not factoring a baby in.
Don’t tell me I was the first one to notice but Ave seems to feel quite comfortable, maybe looking a bit mischievous at the bar already. Future mum and daughter pub nights are in your future ;). I hope the time until then won’t be too bumby. You really are doing a great job.
Miss Polkadot recently posted…Give yourself some credit.
Thanks. I really do appreciate all your support and the positivity. It really does help, and it’s amazing we’re almost to the end of this journey for the Hubby. School is done, and now he just needs to take the test. Cross those fingers. 🙂

I am so glad your Mom is there to help you with Ave! Though I bet it’s hardly a struggle for her to help as she is so stinkin’ cute!
Way to go hubby for graduating! And I am so impressed that you alphabetised your movie list as I don’t even have the brain power to do that right now! 😛 xo

My mom and my in laws would absolutely agree with you. They love spending time with their grand daughter so it’s a win all around.

Love that pic of you are Ave at the bar – her face says it all!
Big congrats to the hubby – that’s a lot of hard work paying off, and a big high five to you too Meg for supporting him all the way like the awesome wife you are! 🙂
Rocking the week, as always!

30 hours breastfeeding last week!!!!! OMG! This is almost a full time job!
Once again, congratulations to the hubby! And the robe is pretty cool!
Ave looks like just very happy wit the giant beer 🙂
Juli @1000lovelythings recently posted…Week in Review – Fun with Side Effects
I know thirty hours is a ton, and the crazy part is it’s way less than the first few weeks. Ridiculous right?!
Meghan recently posted…Week in Review: (#33)
Wow… 30 hours of just breastfeeding? No wonder most new moms are just exhausted and fried, especially since that doesn’t even count the pumping sessions (which were the worst, in my opinion).
Big congratulations to your husband as well! That’s a big achievement!
Heather recently posted…Week In Review – Not quite as expected
Yeah pumping is definitely not my idea of a good time.
The 30 hours is at week 7 so I can only imagine how many hours I was breastfeeding in the beginning. Craziness!
Meghan recently posted…Week in Review: (#33)
GRADUATION! HE made it!! I am sosososo proud of him. Send him my congrats. Congrats to you too for still rocking mommy hood!

I’m so happy for your family! A good friend of mine graduated from the same school over the weekend as well!
It’s a small world isn’t it. Congrats to your friend!

OMG. That post is the best. That pic of you and Baby with the beer?? I mean, she looks sooooo happy! I honestly suggest you move into a bar. ANd all is perfect.
The pic of the hubby and Ave at the graduation is pretty beautiful too. Give him a congratulation hug’n kiss from me. I can’t wait to celebrate with you in person – SOON!

I can’t wait to celebrate with you either…IN PERSON!!! SOON IS RIGHT!

So nursing is basically a full time job. Wow. I had no idea. And I just about died over that picture of you and Ave in the bar, so I blame you for all the weird looks the people in Bux just gave me for randomly bursting out laughing. But she just looks so happy! I hope it wasn’t because she just did a poopie. A huge congrats to The Hubby as well. I know how hard BOTH of you were working for that, so you both deserve some major props. Love you <3
Amanda @ .running with spoons. recently posted…it feels so good to be back! (ToL#185)
Nursing is a full time job and the craziest part is I was nursing for way more hours in the beginning, although I didn’t have the app back then so I have no idea how many. I’d be curious though.
She’s actually smiling for more than just poops these days. It’s pretty impressive.
Thanks sweets. I couldn’t be more proud of the Hubby, and I’m so glad this six year journey of his is drawing to a close.
They really do have apps for every thing – 30 hrs a week+!?! You deserve all the gold stars (maybe share a couple with hubby too – the doctorate in pharm is a HUGE accomplishment).
Melissa @ Mango About Town recently posted…Jonathan’s Farm CSA – Week 1
I know. I’m so proud of the Hubby and Ave is nursing only 15 hours a week now so we’re getting way more efficient. 🙂
