Week in Review: Ave’s Edition (#40)

July 18, 2016 by Meghan 47 Comments

Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.

The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Need more details? Head here.

Week In Review Button Final

♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫

When my mom first told me about this lovely link up of hers, I was fascinated, so much so I decided I wanted in on the action. Since I have her wrapped around my little finger, you’re getting a dose of Ave today. Yes, occasionally I talk about myself in the third person because it’s what the cool babies do; obviously.

Let’s get listing:

I took a vacation to escape the stress of my everyday life. Eating, sleeping, and pooping is tough work, and I was ready for a break.

As such, I became an international traveler.

Canada - The Let Me In

I had the best time staring at a shiny helium filled balloon on the ceiling. To be totally honest, it might have been the highlight of my trip.

I also took a dip in Lake Erie, where I gave myself a relaxing mud bath, and I hung out on the beach and supervised the making of sand castles.

Ave Swimming in Lake Erie - Crescent Beach 2016

Ave Crescent Beach 2016

I slept in the same room as the ‘rents in order to prevent further monkey loving shenanigans. What can I say, I like being an only child and don’t intend to share mommy’s milk with anyone, especially when she eats such tasty vittles. I’m particular to cheese curds and ice cream.

Caprese Salad with Avocado and Mango

Black Bean Sweet Potato Apple Salsa Burrito

Brickworks Cider and Ave

White Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut Cookie with Salted Caramel Ice Cream Chipwich

Speaking of milk, I nursed for 12 hours, a new record.

I had a nice lunch out with grandma, where I cried in the corner before passing out on mom’s shoulder.

I also hung out with my girl Chelsea and my cousin Max.

Chelsea and Ave Beach Week 2016

Ave and Max Beach Week 2016

I took multiple baths in the kitchen sink.

Just to make things interesting, I also peed in that same sink. I hope grandma and grandpa can still get their deposit back, especially since they taught me how to blow the coolest bubbles.

Ave Bathing in the Sink

Last but not least, I learned how to suck my thumb. My next trick involves fitting my whole fist into my mouth. I’m almost there.

Ave Sucking Her Thumb

It’s your turn. I want to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.

I was so hoping for your piggies in Canadian waters, Ave–thanks for meeting my needs!
I’m glad you enjoyed your first beach vacation. It looks like you were appropriately adorable (naturally) with all the relatives.
    Well done!

So adorable! We just started the kitchen sink baths and love it. Before we were using her plastic tub and sponging water on her, which she never liked. Now Lulu loves the bath and sitting in water and being sprayed down. Yup when we graduate to the tub it will be epic.
So excited for yiu and your Canada adventures!!! Love the photos! I’m also thrilled Ave likes cheese curds and ice cream, I might have to start including them back. I was afraid to but life is merely black and grey without ice cream.
Big hugs to you and the bundle of joy!

Thankfully Ave loves being in water so the bath, the sink and the lake were all acceptable. Whew, big sigh of relief.

Eat the ice cream; it’s good for mama’s mental health which is great for the baby. 🙂

The cider was really good and I enjoyed a Crabby’s or two as well, although it is pricey. You’re right about that.

I loved your podcast. I listened to the whole thing this afternoon. Way to throw the poop stories in there too. You make me laugh.

Three things I accomplished: read a book, got a run in, and got all my photos transferred/synced to Google photos. Yet to accomplish: fitting my entire fist into my mouth. Hopefully Ave can coach me! I can, however, touch my tongue to my nose which is a pretty fantastic skill to have. Have a lovely Monday!
