I’m a sweet potato whore.
Or at least I have been lately. It’s pretty safe to say I’m on a bender, although the kind which leaves you satiated and pumped full of nutrients, as opposed to dehydrated and left to rot on a street corner somewhere; not that I know from actual experience. Sure there was that one time I ‘fell asleep’ (cough, cough) in the bathroom, on the throne, after an evening of copious refreshments, but I was indoors and safe. Despite my lack of a derriere, there was no chance of me falling in. Besides that was college and we all know what happens in our undergraduate years stays in our undergraduate years.
To be crystal clear, I never received any monetary donations for my salacious sweet potato ways, lest you think your heroine gets paid to do the wild thing. I don’t. Tone Loc and I stand strong on this topic, although I’m not sure how he feels about sweet potatoes. I should have my people call his people. Oh Oscar…
In the meantime, I think sharing some salacious sweet potato loving is in order.

It’s true these kind of posts are supposed to be good for blog traffic provided they actually catch on (I haven’t hit that particular jackpot yet), and while that’s a potential perk of me sharing all the gorgeous potato goodness, I’m really doing this because my love of spuds runs deep. I’m Irish, it’s in my blood. The wild thing…well that comes from gypsy genes.
What’s your favorite way to use sweet potatoes?
These all look great! I’m a lazy lover. I just take my sweet spuds with tons of butter. Sometimes sugar or Sriracha depending on my mood. Or nuts. Cuz I’m a nut 🙂

The savory sweet potatoes are practically butter and mashed potatoes because that’s my favorite too. It’s classic. 🙂
Also, you’re totally my kind of nuts.

Perfect timing, thanks! I had a little surgery yesterday and will home on a “soft” diet for two weeks. All my healthy choices have been taken away from me. No seeded breads or fibrous foods, only soft cooked fruit and veg and just mild spices and no fresh herbs or raw or frozen fruit, berries or veg. I can have white potatoes and sweet though and I love them. Also things white bread….booo. The pancakes look terrific ! So thanks for all of the recipes, l am sure I find more!
No raw fruit! Aww man that stinks. I hope it goes by quickly and I’m glad the surgery went well (based on the fact you’re leaving me comments). Sending lots of healing vibes and soft food your way.

Hey Meghan, thanks! Yep, indeed I am feeling more spunky than I’d planned. It might be the medicine tho. The golden globes are on Pop’s grocery list. Which is probably on the cars
floor mat crumpled up. Expecting my phone to ring between ow and Tuesday!
Hopefully they got you hopped up on some good stuff. 🙂
I’m down with sweet potatoes. Especially the purple ones. I like them in protein smoothies because they make ’em super creamy. Salacious, even. Also, I want all of these recipes. One day I’ll work less and cook more. One day…

When that day comes, feel free to do it out of my kitchen. In fact, I have a ravioli maker begging to be used…

Lately white potatos show up in my kitchen way more often than sweet potatos. I feel like I absolutely need to change that. I still need to make your sweet potato chips. Those call my name. Loudly!
And thanks for including my fries :o*

I’ve got an equal mix of white and sweet potatoes here at the moment. I like it that way. We need potato options.
I love your fries. They’re awesome.
Well now I’m drooling. Those burgers have been on my list for a long time, and now is everything else. Give me the sweet taters any time, any way, any form. With cheese, peanut butter or ketchup.

Those burgers are my absolute favorite. Make a double or triple batch because they are a lot of work and then freeze them because they are also well worth it.

What a round up! Love it! Sweet pots are my jam, I thinky my favourite way to eat them is baked with some tahini drizzled on top – yum!
We do however make a sp dish every year at christmas with thin slices of sp layered with onions and covered in butter… So so good!
Oh and we have all been there… Many times I woke up after falling asleep in my own bathroom…

So much sweet potato goodness – I love it! They don’t [currently] rank higher than normal white potatoes for me, but I do love the orange guys. I’d also really love to try a Japanese, but can never seem to find one…
Thanks for sharing my recipes <3

I don’t think I’ve ever had a Japanese one either. We’ll have to try them.

SALACIOUS.
You slay. You also brought back terrible bathroom/sleep memories. It may be a little PG13 for this.
