Get you pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.
The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Need more details? Head here.
♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫
Life is still chaos central over here. In the last ten days, I’ve been in Atlanta celebrating with my blogging besties, back in Cleveland hosting my favorite Swiss, and then onto Buffalo with the tiny human to hang with family. I’m exhausted in the best possible way, and sharing the highlight reel with you today.
Let’s get listing:
We picked up Ave’s new ride, and she is loving it.
We also scored some sassy sneakers and took them on a handful of early morning runs.
I went on my first trip without my darling daughter, the tiny dictator, and had the most smashing time in Atlanta with my girls Laura and Lucie. This is our third time toasting our threesome, and to think we all met on the Internet. Cyberspace is a weird and wonderful world.
We all got tattoos and some of us (cough, Laura and I, cough) drank our body weight in booze. Suffice to say, this mom made the most out of her toddler free trip.
I had my first encounter with avocado toast. Alright fine, technically it was guacamole, but it’s close enough. Besides the bread was gluten free so I should get bonus points.
We embarked on our first beach adventure of the season. It was a beautiful day, Lucie’s fortieth birthday to be exact, and we soaked up every last drop of sun, along with a significant amount of sand. Seriously it’s all over my house.
We hit up the farmers market and indulged in some beignet sampling, the best kind of taste testing.
I made my first, and definitely not my last, raw chocolate cake. The icing was everything, although the batter did break my food processor. Hashtag worth it…..so long as the Hubby buys me a new one.
We were tourists in my own city.
Once we dropped Lucie off at the airport, Ave and I road tripped it to Buffalo, mostly to see the family, but also to hit up yet another zoo. Elephants make everything better.
There were so many other magical moments and one or two large hiccups in the road, but we’re still in Buffalo, for another handful of hours anyway, so I’m going to focus on my family and catch you all on the flip side.
It’s your turn. I’d love to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.
What is something you accomplished in the last week? Big or small.
I get exhausted just reading your posts telling me what you did in a week! Whew! Love, love love, the sneakers. Now I want unicorn sneakers to run in. Wonder if I could find them in my size. Looks like you had a wonderful week with family and friends – always a win.

It’s amazing how many activities you can fit in when you don’t have a 9 to 5 job.
I need the unicorn sneakers in my size too.

You’re killing summer already. Both trips, and your hosting time at home, look absolutely refreshing and fulfilling for the soul. I hope you can ride these waves for many more weeks to come. After a bit of a rest maybe.

I definitely need a bit of a rest, although we’re heading back to Buffalo again this week. Ahhh, summer time schedule. Speaking of which, we’ll be at the beach again for a week in July in Canada. Hope we can meet up again.

MMMMMM that raw chocolate cake looks AMAZING. And I love that sort of busy/chaos that leaves you exhausted in a good way. 🙂
Isn’t it crazy how we can meet friends on the internet? 🙂 I love it. 🙂 It definitely takes some caution, but it’s amazing how the internet connects people from miles away.

The raw chocolate cake was super tasty. I’d definitely make it again.

Wahooo!! That cake, I am way jealous and impressed at the same time. I am loving Ave’s new ride, I hope that’s your bike and you are going to be like Dorothy and Toto. Except with her behind you, and minus the tornados. Your tattoos are the best.

You would have loved the chocolate cake. If you’re up for it, I’ll make it the next time you visit and THANK YOU for the suggestion.
I love the bike and so does the tiny human. We almost rode to the grocery store this morning but then the rain came. Next time.

I think in a contest, Ave wins with the cutest shoe choice! Over the top is my style too, and And I am happy to finally be old enough to make it okay, lol!
Love that you kicked upr heels, got your grove on, went footloose and fancy free with your best friends and no Avie, entertaining as she is! Every mother should!
But coming home is always a great thing too! It is just that you always seem to do it with both feet running so fast they are a blur the you jump right back into a tornado of activities. And I love that you can.
Parenting really gives you no other choice than to jump right back into the whirlwind of activities. Some days, I would love to hibernate and lounge around the house, but Ave is not having it. Thankfully, she spends a fair amount of time with my in-laws so we both win.

oh my stars i love this!!! so nuch. you are living the dream my friend!!! living it up and that’s amazing! i cant’ wait to hear about Ave’s new bike seat. i’ve been nervous about those but then again i don’t have a proper bike that we can use so it’s just not relevant. but still. i see kids on the back of bikes and i get all nervous. can i do that? would i freak out? i used to ride triathlon bikes all over the place, wtf??? in some ways motherhood has made me much more brave than before, in other ways i’m a little fraidy cat over nothing. whatever.
your last few weeks are so beautiful! how was it being away from Ave for that trip? i hope you had fun!!! i had a hard each time i’ve been away from L more than a night… in mid June i’ll be going away from home for a week solo to fly across the pond to see my brother graduate from uni in Aberdeen. my hubby and L will be at home and i’ll be abroad with my mom and meeting my brother’s long time girlfriend for the first time. i’m nervous to be away from my kiddo for a week but geez i’ve got to toughen up!!! yikes!!!
Ave LOVES the bike seat and there’s lot of straps and harnesses so I’m not worried about her at all back there. They make them super safe, nothing like riding on the bike handle bars like we used to do as kids. 🙂
A week solo….WOW! You are going to have a great time, and it’ll be a great bonding session for Lulu and Daddy.

That sounds like a whirlwind couple weeks, but in the best way! I’ll take some beignet sampling, please.
I will never turn down a beignet. 🙂

Your trip with the girls sounds like a BLAST and so necessary!! Congrats on the new ink, and omg I can’t believe that was your first avocado toast WHAT!!!

I haven’t hopped on the avocado toast train yet, although this was a good toe dipping experience.

I would just like to say that I went sober longer than you two did after the trip. Not that it lasted… don’t judge… #noregrets
Seriously though. I wish we could have girls night every weekend, at a minimum. I miss you already!
Hey, we had to celebrate Lucie’s birthday in style. Before and after that, it was all caffeine free tea. 🙂
I miss you too. Switzerland 2019.

Your girls trip looked divine. So does that cake. Definitely worth breaking the processor for. Haha!
And it made it easy for my Hubby to shop for a Mother’s Day gift for me: one new food processor coming right up. 🙂

I LOVE avocado (or guacamole) toast with eggs like that! So good. Congrats on a fun trip. I didn’t see any pics of said tattoo…

Yay you did it!! It’s so not a small thing to be away from our tiny humans. Your trip looked great and probably reminded you of a part of you that you don’t get to be much right now. How was Ave when she saw you again?
Ave did great without me. She goes to my in-laws twice a week now so she’s used to days without me. Also, my Hubby took off work so he was with her full time and I think that helped. We also facetimed about twice a day. When I got home, Ave was definitely excited. She was talking faster than her mouth could process the words.

Elephants do make everything better. When we went to the zoo last week we sat on a bench in front of the elephant enclosure and ate out lunch as the elephants are theirs. I could have sat and watched them for hours, they have such a personality!
A busy few weeks for sure but so much love in all these pictures. I know that sometimes all the family and friend time seems to come all at once and we have a hectic few weeks and then nothing for weeks. It’s tiring for sure but something I know neither of us would change.
Ave seems to love the bike! Her face in the story today was fantastic!
Jen @ Chase the Red Grape recently posted…Week in Review
Ave loves the bike seat. We’ve been going for a ride every night, and it’s good for all of us. She loves to say, “passing left” or “passing right” when we sail by others. It’s adorable.
It’s been so busy and it’s going to continue for a bit, but you’re right. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Meghan recently posted…Week in Review: The Highlight Reel (#132)
Wow! You have been busy! It all looks like a great time and amazing friends and memories made!
Yep. It’s been very busy but all good stuff.

You, my dear, had a BUSY two weeks! It looks all kinds of amazing but still busy! Holy moly! Hope you get in some introverting now! But we can also introvert together in two weeks 😉
I love the almost avocado toast and that you guys got matching tattoos 😀
