The Reveal

May 23, 2012 by Meghan 7 Comments

Tank Top ArmsYou may or may not remember, but about 15 days ago, I wrote about my personal “bat wings” and my plan to rid myself of them.  I have diligently stuck with the Tank Top Arms workout, doing it once a day for the last 15 days, with a break every fourth day. There was no cheating, even though there were nights I realized at 10, I had forgotten to do the workout.  Inevitably, a few cuss words ensued, followed shortly thereafter by me completing the workout.  If I hadn’t made this pledge on my blog, I might have skipped the workout on those evenings, so I must thank you for making me accountable, although I won’t be making any belly fat pledges soon.  Mostly because I’m not going to post a picture of my stomach.  I’ve got mad respect for women who do, but my tummy is not ready for primetime.

For the workout, I used 8 pound weights, and I usually did it while watching bad television (my favorite kind).  No surprises, it got easier each time, although the lateral raises have become my nemesis (Dun, Dun, Dun). In total, the whole workout only takes about 12 minutes, so it’s really manageable and anybody could do it.

Now, I’m my own worst critic, and as the days were passing, I was getting nervous because I didn’t see any results.  I thought how can I share this with people since it didn’t work.  Then, I figured if it doesn’t happen, I’ll share it anyways and then try a different arm workout.  Even though I was still not seeing noticeable results, I did feel a change.  Just a couple of days ago, while stretching, I put my hand on my right tricep and was shocked to find a small muscle there.  At least, I think it was a muscle. It was kind of hard and dense….must be a muscle.

After 15 days, I posed again for my “after” pictures, wearing the same outfit in the before shot, so they were truly comparable.  I hate makeover pictures where the before shot shows the woman looking plain with no make up, hair a mess, and clothes from 2 decades ago.  Of course she looks better when you do her hair and make up and put her in something attractive.  So, you’ll get none of that from me.  I chose the same outfit (yes, I l know the picture is just of my arm) and took the picture in the same room, although the lighting is a tad different.  Blame Mother Nature, not me.

Drumroll please…..

Before

After

And Holy Shit, there’s a muscle there.  I almost didn’t believe it until I saw the two pictures together.  There’s even some improvement from the rear angle.

After

Hard work pays off baby!!

This is me doing my happy dance.

So, I’m going to keep rolling away with the Tank Top Arms workout, and I am going to bust out (like the Hulk) my summer tank tops and go to the gun show.  🙂
