So Little Time

September 27, 2012 by Meghan 7 Comments

I remember six months ago when I used to read…books, that is. It was a lovely thing.

I’m actually still reading the same Fifty Shades of Grey book I started six weeks ago. How embarrassing. The problem is I never pick up the book anymore and not because it’s not interesting; anytime objects have been inserted into unexpected bodily places, I’d say you’ve got interesting covered. I’ve cracked the cover (or the Kindle) twice in the past month. I am three People magazines deep (um, hello Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively got married; where the hell have I been?!), and I haven’t progressed past how to name your blog in my still very new looking copy of Blogging For Dummies. There’s just no time, and I want enough to not only publish a WIAW post, but also to check out everybody else’s eats too. I want to explore new blogs, and there’s simply too few hours in the day to do so.

The Holidays are coming, my insanely busy time at work is on the horizon, and I refuse to go into the next few months feeling stressed or behind or backed up (too few veggies; I kid).

So here’s what I’m going to do: I’m reclaiming Wednesday nights!

Why Wednesday?

Well, it’s hump day (alright I really just wanted to say hump, can you blame me?) and it happens to be the evening where I have the house to myself (which sadly doesn’t go well with humping). So from here on out, Wednesday is my chill out and get caught up on fun stuff night.

Pinned ImageI know what you’re thinking, “What does this mean for me?”

Or if you are a fellow blogger, “Yep, I feel pretty much the same way.”

Now, if you aren’t saying the former, then I’m going to have to work on my dazzling adjectives, re-tap the creative well and up my already A plus photography skills (snort). Jokes aside, it means I’m not going to be publishing a Thursday post…well, except for today. I’m too much of a planner to feel like I can just bounce out on Thursdays without letting you know it’s coming.

So there you have it. I’ll be back tomorrow with my usual hijinks and a montage to bell peppers (I still love my CSA). Until then, go “Tap That” because everybody should have a good roll in the hay (and Fall is officially upon us, or under us (wink, wink)).

How do you handle too busy? What changes, if any, do you make to cope?

Fall is kind of crazy busy for us too. Too much homework for kids, and waning daylight make me tired by the end of the day!

The waning daylight is such a bummer. It’s dark here at seven. 🙁

I’m in the same boat. And I have a book on my nightstand that I started 6 months ago. Totally embarrassing.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. 🙂

I love reading but I go through those phases too where I just don’t pick anything up for awhile. The internet is certainly a cause of it but I’ve been making more of an effort to read now that its getting chillier. Nothing like cozying up with a book 🙂

    Enjoy your Wednesday nights!

Girl, I totally feel you on this! I have not one, but TWO books that I’ve started over the last 6 months or so that I just can’t seem to ever pick up. And it’s not that they aren’t interesting…I’ve got the suspenseful plot of a high school shooting in Jodi Picoult’s Nineteen Minutes, and the ever alluring sexy tales of the supernatural world in one of the Sookie Stackhouse novels! 😉 But I STAY so far behind in blogging/blog reading that I almost feel guilty for picking up a book when I haven’t even replied to the comments on my previous day’s post! I did make some changes over the last year or so that have helped with a little balance…I don’t post on Wednesdays (since I get my WIAW post up on Tuesday night) or Saturdays. It has taken off some of the pressure (that I put on myself), but I swear I always envision those days to be full of catching up time…getting back on top (heehee) of things…checking off items on the to-do list…but they always seem to fly by so fast, that I’m left the next day wondering what in the hell I did with my “free time”! Just last night, I rebelled…I knew I had 50+ comments to read/respond to on my blog, but instead, I spent an hour scanning through Instagram (that app will be the death of me, I swear), had some tea, and conked out my 10pm. So yeah, let me know if on one of your free humping days you have an epiphany of sorts and find a way to create a few extra hours into the day…then maybe I wouldn’t be more than 2 weeks behind in your posts! Lol
