Working Girl

December 3, 2012 by Meghan 16 Comments

I worked an obscene amount of hours last week, with many more to come this month since work is just starting to heat up. This past weekend, after working more hours (grumble, grumble), I did a lot of cooking and meal prepping, cleaned my kitchen but good, hung the outdoor holiday lights, and started getting ready for the upcoming winter festivities by doing a little shopping and catching a Cleveland Cavaliers game, which has nothing to do with the holidays, but I thought I’d sneak it in there anyway. I’ve also perfected the run-on sentence.

What I didn’t do was start any blog posts or catch up on any blog reading (sorry, my fellow bloggers; I’ll be back and commenting very soon).

Something had to give, so I took yesterday afternoon and evening for me. I relaxed, watched a movie, had a glass of wine, hooked up the massage chair and decompressed. The Hubby even made me Peanut Butter Chocolate Pudding  (what a man; he makes pie crusts and pudding) with agave and avocado, so I still get a sweet treat, without the crappy food hangover. This is a recycled picture, but it tasted even better, since I didn’t lift a finger to make it.

So I’ve got nothing today, but I’ll be back tomorrow or maybe even the day after, but I make no promises because my massage chair is beckoning.

Before I go, I want to leave you with a little bit of cute and funny, and since I’m not feeling photogenic at the moment, this will have to suffice. Happy Monday.

How do you decompress, and will your man make you pudding (real men make pudding)?

I’ve just wrapped up a 5 day visit from my folks followed immediately by a weekend in Ft Wayne for a wheelchair basketball tournament followed immediately by the community tree lighting ceremony last night.

I plan to take a few hours this morning catching up on the internets, clean some of the house, and think about breaking out the decorations. But sled hockey in Cincinnati tonight means that I don’t have the evening free until tomorrow, and it will be much appreciated.

One of these days I’ll watch my favorite holiday movie: Love, Actually.

Holy cow; you’ve been busy. I hope you had a nice visit with your family and a great extended Thanksgiving. Good luck with sled hockey (what is that?), and here’s to finally relaxing in the evening (I’m toasting you with my imaginary glass) tomorrow night.

Foot rubs and wine pouring are huge pros, so I’ll give him that. Still jealous you own a onesie.

You have a massage chair? That is awesome! I might never leave. There is definitely some cleaning and TV involved in my decompressing. I also like to go for a walk or find a yoga class if I have the time. Sounds like you deserved a little ‘ME’ time and I love the sound of that pudding!

I have no man, but doesn’t mean I can’t decompress with some wine and a good dark chocolate bar. Only minimal uncorking and unwrapping effort involved, and I’ve quite mastered both those skills.

I feel the same way … I’m thinking I need one of those nights tonight. But knowing me, I still won’t take it mwhahaha.

My hubs would make me pudding – but he would ask me 90 million qusetions on making said pudding during the process, even if he had instructions beforehand.

There were some questions involved…You absolutely should take one of those nights sometimes!! We all need them.

Wow, you have been so productive. That pudding sounds amazing. I decompress by wearing my biggest sweats and laying on the couch reading a magazine or just plain doing nothing. I’m a total introvert so I need to clear my head and not talk to anyone to decompress!
