Fall is in the Air

October 16, 2012 by Meghan 2 Comments

I drove to Buffalo this past weekend to see my family and to Skype with my nephew in Belgium.  Hands down, the best part of the trip was getting to spend some quality time with everybody. My family rocks, and a good portion of them are fairly crazy. At least crazy enough to talk about doing something like this next summer.

Talk about memorable races, so of course I said, “count me in.” Time to start doing some pull ups and hitting up the kiddie park, so I can practice swinging on the monkey bars. Gotta get my inner badass up and running…or really lifting.

The next best thing, trumping even the food, which is not easily trumpable (this should be a word; I bet you the Donald would support it) was the scenery. This is the perfect time of year to hop on I90 and take a drive through Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York.

We also drove by a mum farm, and while I didn’t grab any pictures, I managed to snag a replica from google images. It looked something quite like this.

The drive was absolutely breath-taking. Too bad the Hubby is color blind and couldn’t really appreciate it. Man oh man, did he miss out.

And this right here is just another reason why I love all the seasons. Fall doesn’t get more beautiful than that.

Do you get to experience fall foliage where you live? Would you ever participate in a tough mudder?

I can’t stop taking pictures of the changing leaves. It’s beautiful! Not sure if I would ever do a tough mudder but my family go to do a fun mud run and I was jealous. I broke my toe and had to back out last minute. Next time…I’m in!

I know, the foliage is amazing. It’s the main reason I love the fall so much. In Spring, it’s all about things turning green again and blooming.

What a bummer about your toe. Sounds like it’s almost back to normal now.
