It’s high time to slip another Currently post into the mix. Instead of rambling on, as is my usual custom, I’m getting right to the point today. You’re welcome.

Current Book: I just finished The Whole Town’s Talking by Fannie Flagg, which was as light and fluffy as a bowl of whipped cream on a warm day, and the perfect follow up book to Us Against You by Fredrik Backman. This sequel to Bear Town, is as dark and twisty as the first book. Despite the tough subject matter, I couldn’t put it down.

(This is an old photo, but it includes books, so I’m using it.)

Current Drink: H2O. It’s hot here in Cleveland and your girl is parched.

Current Food: all the veggies now that my CSA has started. Produce pickup day is officially my favorite day of the week. Hooray veggies.

Current Non-Guilty Pleasure: Ave and I went to Buffalo last weekend to hang with my family and check out the new bird exhibit at the zoo. We had a great time, and she had zero fear when it came to feeding our flying friends.

Current Bane of Existence: Ave has been hangry off and on for weeks now, partially because she’s working on her molars and also because it’s nice out and she doesn’t want to stop playing in order to eat. I’ll never understand toddlers. They hate naps, and they willingly deny themselves food.

(Oscar is a rock star with Ave.)

Current Confession: I’m back on Zoloft. Yeah that whole weaning business didn’t work out so well. Stupid postpartum depression.

Current Obsession: noodles, whether they’re zucchini, kohlrabi or straight pasta.

Current Excitement: next week is Beach week, where my whole family converges on one cottage in Canada for an entire week. It’s messy, memorable, overwhelming and my favorite vacation every year.

Current Needs: lots of help. The Hubby can’t get off work for our vacation, so every time I need to use the bathroom, shower, grab a drink or snack, change clothes, sit for 4.2 seconds, or do pretty much anything, I’ll need someone to watch Ave.

Current Blessing: my family. They’re awesome and tiny human loves them, so I know they’ll lend your girl a hand.

Current Mood: eager and full of positive plans and lots of lists. Vacation packing is my favorite.

Your turn. What’s Currently going on in your world? Current book? Current confession?

Don’t beat yourself up about the meds. I recently went back on a hormone replacement for menopause. I was sure I could do it on my own. That lasted about 6 weeks. Big hugs. Enjoy your family vacation!!!

So excited for your trip to the beach cottage! That sounds so perfectly punch. We just finished Goliath on amazon prime and now we’re hooked on Mrs Maizel. Soooooo good. I’m about to start yet another chapter. Well not real it’s an older chapter that I’m reopenibg with new wisdom and force. With my hubbys career plans turning a different direction I’ve decided it’s time for me to put myself out there. I’m back in biz for myself. It feels good although nobody knows yet. I’m finishing things up and giving my current boss notice this week. So much change. This is life and I wouldn’t change a thing. Love you!!

Love the whole concept of your “Current” post! just finished Halleluja Anyway by Anne Lamott, and loved it, so I bought one of her non-fiction books – Imperfect Birds – and my reaction was “Meh!” Now I need a new book that I love to rebound from the last one.

Glad to hear that your mood is a positive one!

I have yet to try Anne Lamott but I’ve heard great things. I’ll have to check out Halleluja Anyway. Thanks for the tip. I love a good book recommendation.

Ahh you have a tomato! I’m waiting (not very patiently) for our first CSA tomatoes.

Currently reading Behave: The Biology of Humans at Our Best and Worst by Robert Sapolsky. It’s massive – almost 700 pages – which I somehow was not expecting despite seeing how thick the book is? It is fascinating though.

What a clever title. Behave, I like it, although it does sound intimidating.

Friend. There’s nothing wrong with meds. Have you ever read She’s Come Undone? I love the lines: “Accept what people offer. Drink their milkshakes. Take their love.” Take the pill love. MWAH.

Never read it, adding it to the list. Also continuously telling myself there’s nothing wrong with meds. Love you and happy birthday month.

Well I am super glad you have this vacation coming up – getting some sun and sea (lake) always feels super refreshing. Also family time… You know how much I cherish that and I know you do too. Such a shame the hubs can’t come. It always sucks when work schedules just don’t allow for it. As you said though, I’m sure your family will be a great support with Ave.

There is a hangry toddler over here too. She just cut one of her 2 year molars – so happy that one is finally through. Squish is Miss Independent and has been wanting to feed herself since her first solids at 6 months. Lately she’s too busy to eat and actually wants to be fed now! Have fun on your vacation and take all the family help you can get while you’re there. 🙂

Isn’t family the best? Bless them. Gah! You are my family and I wish I could join in on helping with A and mama’s solitude time. I’ll bring the wine. K?

Noodles! I love noodles.. Specially those CupNoodles that you can make on the microwave. But they are not healthy so I try not to buy them. Maybe I should look for a recipe to make my own healthy CupNoodles. I’ve heard of people doing them in jars.
