WIAW: The Hair Band Edition

August 15, 2012 by Meghan 24 Comments

For anyone unfamiliar with what’s about to happen, today is What I Ate Wednesday (WIAW), which loosely translates to “Show Me Your FOOD.” You thought I was going to say something else, didn’t ya. Dirty birdie, get your mind out of the gutter. Just because this is the hair band edition doesn’t mean it’s Girls Gone Wild. As always, thank you to the fabulously funny Jenn over at Peas and Crayons for hosting this crazy weekly shindig. Check her out, and not in a Girls Gone Wild way.

Peas and Crayons

What I’m about to show you is my Saturday eats, and I might toss in a few extras because I’ve been holding out on you. Forgive me, especially since I don’t have a really good reason, other than I’ve been busy talking about other things (um 115 lbs, yeah there’s that).

I think it’s time to bust it out, hair band style, and if you don’t know what I mean by “hair band,” then you’re too young, and this post might get explicit. If you do know, then by all means shout it out, and feel free to use your spatula as a microphone (I certainly do). And if this song makes you want to throw your foot up on a chair and toss your hair around, then do it. I won’t tell anyone.

Remember the luscious cantaloupe and the naughty blackberries we got in the CSA last week….

Step inside, walk this way

You and me babe, Hey, hey!

Love is like a bomb, baby, c’mon get it on

Livin’ like a lover with a radar phone.

Lookin’ like a tramp, like a video vamp

Demolition woman, can I be your man?

Razzle ‘n’ a dazzle ‘n’ a flash a little light.

Television lover, baby, go all night

Sometime, anytime, sugar me sweet

Little miss ah innocent sugar me, yeah

Hey! C’mon, take a bottle, shake it up

Break the bubble, break it up.

Pour some sugar on me

Ooh, in the name of love

Pour some sugar on me

C’mon, fire me up

Pour your sugar on me

Oh, I can’t get enough

I’m hot, sticky sweet

From my head to my feet, yeah

How about the big juicy watermelon, the pretty little heirloom tomatoes, the patty pan squash, the green bell pepper or the golden onion (there’s a dirty joke there somewhere). You remember those little gems. Yeah, they were tasty.

Listen! red light, yellow light, green-a-light go!

Crazy little woman in a one man show

Mirror queen, mannequin, rhythm of love

Sweet dream, saccharine, loosen up

You gotta squeeze a little, squeeze a little

Tease a little more

Easy operator come a knockin’ on my door

Sometime, anytime, sugar me sweet

Little miss innocent sugar me, yeah, yeah

Give a little more

Take a bottle, shake it up

Break the bubble, break it up

Pour some sugar on me

Ooh, in the name of love

Pour some sugar on me

C’mon fire me up

Pour your sugar on me

Oh, I can’t get enough

I’m hot, sticky sweet

From my head to my feet yeah.

In honor of hair bands everywhere (or just the eighties), I had to end it with a little yolk porn. Feel free to rock on with your bad self. Me; I’ve been jamming this whole time.

It’s a classic. I was rocking the whole time, and the Hubby kept laughing at me.
I love incorporating my two loves: food and music. They go together like exercise and music. Well pretty much anything and music.

Thanks for popping and glad you liked it. I love putting music and food together since I’m usually singing or dancing when I’m cooking. I get down!

Thank you so much Jessie! It means a lot to me that people really seemed to enjoy it. I love food and music so what better way to express it. Who knows what’ll I do next week. I’m not sure it can get better than Pour Some Sugar On Me.
Pretty soon, you will be rocking out in your gorgeous new kitchen with all the wide open glorious counter space.
