Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.
The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back.
Need more details? Head here. ♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫
Let’s get listing:
- I worked a very reasonable 40 hours on the job and published three blog posts. I was also tickled pink by how much y’all enjoyed Friday’s Confessions post. Apparently, you like it when I air my dirty laundry.
- In that same vein, I had another doctors appointment. They must buy lube by the case.
- I hit up one of my favorite Cleveland places, The West Side Market and bought all the fruit, cheese, olives and Ohio City Pasta I could carry, which turned out to be four bags full. I’ve been eating my spinach, making Popeye proud.
- I had a dinner with a friend and her kids. Anytime someone else feeds me, I am so very grateful, especially when it involves lots of my beloved veggies. Salad bar here I come.
- I got gussied up for the office Holiday Party, in the only dress which still fit and completely covered ‘The Bump.’
- I did the typical ten (alright fine, two) loads of laundry, unloaded the dishwasher countless times, and fed the cats all the week. I’d like to say they were appreciative, but they’re cats.
- I snuck in a Body Pump and a Spinning class during the week. I thought about exercising on the weekend, and happily opted out.
- I went to a Christmas party with the Hubby’s extended family on Saturday night. I might have also gotten into some shenanigans. Let me just say those rifles have some kick. When in Rome…
- I finished the rest of the holiday cards, all while listening to Christmas music. It was quite lovely and I’m happy to have that project off the list. ♫ Check baby, Check baby, one two. ♫
- I squeezed in a movie and a nap, fireside.
- By way of edibles, I made Spoons’ Double Chocolate Greek Yogurt Banana Bread, which is just as amazing as it sounds.
- I also made her Sweet & Salty Trail Mix Granola Bars, and the texture is popping.
- I whipped up a batch of Savory Parmesan Rosemary Granola for gift giving.
- I also made a fantastic lunch on Sunday. It was a Peas & Crayons inspired Breakfast Bowl with scrambled eggs, roasted sweet potatoes, black beans, cheese and avocado.
- The icing on the cake though was Juli’s Three Ingredient Chocolate Crossies, which are already nearly gone. Did I mention I made them yesterday afternoon?
Your turn. I want to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.
What are three things you accomplished in the last week?

Love the holiday party picture! I definitely do closer to 10 loads per week than 2! It’s anywhere between 5 and 7, and I try not to think or speak about it ever 😉 Holiday cards, Christmas music and a fireplace sound like perfection.

Meg seeing your cards reminds me to say I loved it–a very sweet sentiment and very nicely done. Coming from a woman who has, in the past, made her own cards please know this is high praise indeed. Nowadays my spouse sends me all these utterly gorgeous handmade cards that very talented folks all over the US mail overseas for the troops to use for their loved ones, and I am surrounded by stunning cards. including yours. Thank you.
1. I accomplished mailing out ALL THE PACKAGES so that they would arrive in time for Christmas. I even posted about it on FB. Then I realized I’d only mailed ALL THE PACKAGES TO THE IN-LAWS and had to scramble to get the goodies out for my oldest friends. However, I did managed to really truly MAIL ALL THE PACKAGES in time.
2. When I hit up the farmer’s market to buy another Ohio ornament from my guy (who makes the handmade coasters I’ve been bandying about on IG and FB–look at me with the lingo) as my daughter had snagged the one I picked up for our tree last week and mailed it off to her French pen pal, they didn’t have any. Someone had come in the day before and asked “do you have an Ohio ornament?” and they’d sold the 2nd one to her. I’d like to think I am responsible for that sale. I was very pleased to find cool gifts at the farmer’s market for both the relatives I have to exchange with and the friends I want to exchange with–and an awesome on 5 levels gift for my girlie.
3. I thawed the Maple Doodle cookie dough I’d frozen after #ChristmasWeek to make the Cookie Exchange cookies, then the cookie exchange was cancelled. I threw the dough back in the freezer and opted to make dairy free loaves of my Finnish Pulla bread for the neighbors instead of a multi-cookie plate. My old recipe, been making it for over 20 years, is all sticky when I use rice milk and ‘buttery spread’. Pain in the butt but ⅗ of the turned out OK and the other 2 will taste fine I’m sure.
A bonus 4. I decided I’d do the reverse of The Waitresses’ advice and accept all of my invites, so Friday night I ended up at Major General & Mrs’s fancy pants house (it comes with the job) because my dear friend invited me. While there I learned that another dear friend is moving back to Ohio this summer. Happy.
Have a lovely holiday! I have no current post this week because I’m taking the holidays off, but if you haven’t entered the Amazon giveaway yet . . .

Your dress was perfect to cover the bump! I think when I’m pregnant, I’ll accentuate my tummy to the max! Skin tight dresses for the win. Because I have told everyone I will never have kids, it would take those types of clothing for them to believe me =P I love Amanda’s recipes! Super simple, yet delicious

You say that now…..until it’s too hard to decipher between baby bump or just weight gain. Then you might cover the bump a little bit 🙂
Amanda’s recipe are the best. I make them all the time.

Um what kind of Christmas parties are you invited to and can I come!?! The only way that picture of you with the rifle could have been more badass would have been if you were wearing your swanky black cocktail dress at the same time. Regardless, both pictures are marvelous. Looks like a festively productive week. You were a rockstar in many areas, but especially in the kitchen. Nicely done!!

I’m crazed today but wanted to stop by and say HIIIII and thanks! <3 Ohmygosh and eating veggies during pregnancy is such a feat! I couldn't touch them until the third trimester haha! 😉 Rock on mama!!!!!!!!
Meghan says
Aside from drinking my greens, I barely touched veggies in the first trimester. Even now, I find veggie stir fry appalling. The poor Hubby doesn’t comprehend.

I’m literally dying over the fact that you’re shooting a rifle in heeled boots. The vanilla gorilla lives on 😉 And I’m both impressed and super jealous at how much cooking/baking you get done in the kitchen on the weekends! I always plan to, aaaand somehow it never ends up happening. I keep saying “later… later,” and before I know it, it’s Sunday night and I’m scrambling to finish up Monday’s post 😛

It’s only because I get virtually no cooking/baking done during the week. 🙂 It’s gotta offset somewhere.

That photo of you with the rifle is priceless. I totally planned to bake a ton yesterday, but somehow visiting my friend for 2 hours and holding her baby for 1/2 hour of that exhausted me too much. Too much cuteness. Also he’s heavy now.

you look absolutely gorgeous! glowing, radiant, joyous.
i know first hand about the kick that rifles give… unfortunately i was incorrect in my word usage and screamed out loud that the rifle gave me a huge COCK in the shoulder. oops. it was only in front of my old boss. i’m known for saying the wrong thing at the right time. it’s my trademark i guess. or badge or honor.

I say it’s a badge of honor. You rock on with yo’ Freudian slips. 🙂

What a stunning mum-to-be you are! Or just stunning as is – that dress was made for you.
You did some serious magic in the kitchen! I also want a savoury breakfast bowl like that – only subbing polenta for the sweet potatoes.
I feel ashamed to say not a single Christmas card left our house this year. Or the past. My parents are to blame, though ;). We hardly did this growing up but like to treat others to homemade cookies – all of which I baked so I guess I made up for the missing cards?
Two more things I did:
1. Taught German three times. It’s what I mentioned in my mail and a win-win situation.
2. Finished one pair of PJ pants as a Christmas gift. I’d be more into sewing if it wasn’t for my fear of needles.

Sorry I’m so late to the table today and I don’t even have a Week in Review ready. I’ll see if can get one done for tomorrow. It all depends on how strong I can get these T3s for my back pain! I am so stoked that you made the Chocolate Crossies! And more even that you enjoyed them 🙂
You really rocked it with all that lovely food this week! And workouts. I am jealous. I couldn’t fit in a single one.
And can we please put ‘all the good food places’ on the Cleveland list?
Some film trivia: The neverendling story was partially filmed in Munich and I once even sat on Fuchur – I suppose he has a different name in English though.

The savory granola is fantastic and actually makes a wonderful salad topping (in place of croutons) or the perfect textural addition to creamy soups. You can’t go wrong with either.
