Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.
The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back.
Need more details? Head here. ♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫
Let’s get listing:
- I worked on and off all week, in between multiple doctors visits and an overnight stay at the hospital. Not to worry; both baby and I are doing great.
- I published three blog posts, including an easy recipe for a Scrambled Egg Sandwich with Cheese (duh) and Chives (hooray green things) and caught up entirely on my BlogLovin feed. Success.
- I got a full body rundown from somebody other than the Hubby. Hello, relaxation massage. Not sure what you were thinking, dirty birdie.
- I hit up Victoria’s Secret and got some bras which actually cover my tatas. On another note, the Hubby has been exhibiting signs of depression.
- Speaking of the man, the two of us curled up on the couch, new bra excluded, and watched Mockingjay Part One.
- We also embarked on a three mile walk for lotto cards. Sadly, we didn’t win the millions, but it felt great to stretch our legs.
- We squeezed in a dinner date on Saturday at Melt Bar and Grilled, which involved grilled cheese sammies the size of our faces. I order the January special, the Potato Bacon Bomb, and managed to eat half along with the giant pile of greens hiding out behind my sandwich and a handful of the Hubby’s French fries.
- We started demoing the guest bathroom and took down the awful flowered pink wall paper. The lights, the sink, and the stand still have to go, although I am thrilled with the progress. By the way, there was a fistful of razor blades hiding out behind the vanity mirror. Creepy much.
- We hit up Sherwin Williams for paint samples. I’m leaning towards one of the warmer blues.
- We started the process of cleaning out our existing office and guest bedroom, which included donating an entire box of books and movies to the local library (more to come), assembling bags of clothes for Goodwill, and pitching a crapton of other stuff.
- I tackled the furniture in our living room, like a beast with the vacuum and rotated all the cushions.
- I did the usual grocery run, watered plants, paid bills, reloaded and unloaded the dishwasher countless times, and tossed in some ironing for kicks; not that you could tell. Ironing is my nemesis.
- On the food front, I baked some spuds for the week, I finally got around to roasting squash, and I used the latter to make soup.
- On a final note, I’ve got big plans to make Juli’s Veggie and Cheese Brunch Skillet and Cora’s Veggie Hash Stacks. I’ve been salivating over both all weekend. Hooray veggies.
Your turn. I want to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.
What are three things you accomplished in the last week?
I’ll have to remember that potato bacon bomb grilled cheese – wow. Your weeks always seem productive and different! Mine would just be the same “keep kids alive and make sure they do homework and get to dance classes, Blog, cook, clean, take pictures of food, run” every week 🙂

I bet there’s more to your weeks than you realize. If you start writing it down, you’ll see how much you really accomplish. It truly is eye opening and feels pretty amazing at the same time. You should think about joining one week….
I am trying to get everything done (including all the house demo and reorganization) before the tiny human comes and takes over my life. Wish me luck.

This productivity makes me all delirious. I hope you had some good beats on while creating all these great things in tha house. Hint: Spotify playlist 90’s HipHop. You can thank me later. While I am hanging at the beach doing nothing. I haven’t even seen a museum or anything else for that matter and as long as it’s 30 degrees Celsius, I don’t plan on doing so. Not sorry.
Though I would totally go for that Sandwich right now, even if it’s bedtime for me. It looks too sinful to be turned down. You know I love my sins.
I’d be right there at the beach with you. The benefits from the relaxation and vitamin D far outweigh any museum in my humble opinion. It doesn’t help I find most museums boring either, and I could live on the beach for days at a time.
The sandwich was insanity; in a good way. The Hubby ate the other half for lunch yesterday.
Meghan recently posted…Week in Review #13
OMG you got that sandwich! Did you order a whole sandwich on your own? I raise my hat to you! Btw Melt has to happen in summer. Stefan doesn’t shut up about Lasagna Sandwiches 😀
I love to pick new colors. We (aka I) plan to paint the living room walls and it’s a tough process to agree on a color. I adore blue and I love the colors you picked. It’s a nice contrast to the color of the tiles! But the razor blades??? Creepy!!!!
Are you going to keep Alice or is she to go next?
This skillet IS screaming your name! I should have named it ‘Brunch with Meg’ but I doubt that’s SEO friendly 😉
P.S. Thanks for linking me up 🙂
P.P.S. I hate ironing!

Melt will go on the list, especially since their lasagna sandwich is one of my favorites. They call it The Godfather for good reason.
Your skillet is also on the very short list. I have everything so it will happen this week, although it’ll likely be too dark to snap a good picture. I’m going to try anyway though.
Alice stays although she’ll be the face of the new nursery (a drug induced book seems appropriate for a child) while the office will become the new guest bedroom. We might even get a headboard and make it look legit. 🙂

Your Monday round-ups never fail to amaze me, Meg—> you really get sh1t done during the week! Glad to hear you and baby are doing fine! If anything, I’ve never seen/heard you so charged up :)! I especially love the paint shade Minor Blue!
Khushboo recently posted…Dining at The Table
Technically I work and feed myself during the week, and then I get shit done on the weekends. 🙂 Having a Hubby who is willing to get his hands dirty totally helps too.
Thanks for the feedback on the paint samples. I appreciate it.
Meghan recently posted…Week in Review #13
YES for your massage! Mine is this week! 🙂 AND holy moly that grilled cheese. I thought that was ranch dressing but creamy sour cream sounds delish. I like the warm blues too; I’m a blue kinda girl. Have a great week!
Sarah recently posted…My one word and bucket list for 2016
That sandwich was divine and the sour cream dressing was probably the best part.
Enjoy your massage.

You may not have won the lotto, but you sure won on the home productivity front. Part of me can’t wait to own a real house to then be able to plan paint colors and renovate, but then I realize how much time and work it all takes and tell myself I can survive another couple years. Kudos to you and your hub for getting all the big jobs started! That soup. And that sandwich! Wha!?
Black – excellent choice 😉
Cora recently posted…Week In Review: A Biscuit of This, A Biscuit of That
Home ownership is a ton of work. Everything takes twice as long and costs twice as much. I wouldn’t change it for anything though. You get to make something uniquely yours. It’s kind of magical.
I will take black into consideration.
Meghan recently posted…Week in Review #13
Just to clarify… black for Victoria secret purchases… maybe not so much for the bathroom 🙂
Cora recently posted…Week In Review: A Biscuit of This, A Biscuit of That
I like the sound of that much better. 🙂

Paint colors make me happy, especially warm blues. And grays. I love all shades of gray, not the movie or book to be clear. Can’t wait to see your finished powder room.
That monster sandwich like whoa. Makes me want biscuits and gravy for some reason, or just gravy. Mmmmm.
You are and the Tatas are quite productive force. Speaking of Tatas I could use a new brazier that’s not cotton and plain, but then again I think I’ll take a bubble bath instead.
Danielle recently posted…Things I’m loving about pregnancy
My bedroom wall color is grey and I adore it. It works in so many situations.
I say go for the bath. The tatas can wait.
Meghan recently posted…Week in Review #13
New bras are a necessary God send. My ladies feel so much happier with some new clothes. I have also been salivating over Cora’s recipe! All I want to do I make some taziki to go with them. I probably spelled that wrong but everyone knows what I mean
Ellie recently posted…Weekend In Review [First Race Since October!]
Oh yes, those phat veggie stacks would be great with a yogurt sauce. Look at that, I avoided having to spell that word altogether.
Meghan recently posted…Week in Review #13
Once again, I can totally see why you are behind these “Week in Review” posts, because they surely do give you the chance to be proud of everything you’ve done. Nice work on all the nesting and cleaning your house! Have a great week, Meghan! 🙂

Weird about the razor blades. My friend Jen lives in an old farmhouse on acreage out this way and her and her husband redid their bathroom about a month ago and found a secret cut-out under the sink with Playboy magazines from the 70’s. Isn’t that just the BEST!?!? And a touch (cough) better than the blades.
Suzy recently posted…Mileage Monday
Playboy magazines are a way better score than a pile of razor blades. Those are just creepy. The Hubby and I were like WTF.
Meghan recently posted…Week in Review #13
My vote is honest blue or soar! Good luck & hope you’re feeling okay
Why am I not surprised you like the cooler blues. 🙂 🙂 Thanks sunshine. Hope you’re having a great trip.

There you got telling me I’d accomplished a lot when you managed to squeeze a month’s work into one week! Seriously impressive.
Why play lotto when you’ve already won the best things in life: a hubby for mad monkey-loving [at least once it’s allowed again and he obviously has a lot of outside-the-bed qualities speaking for him, too]. Loyal felines, friends and coworkers who treat you just the way you deserve – what even is money compared to all of that? [Okay, okay …] If you do win one day, though, I insist on you taking a trip to Germany .
You might tell me not to worry but only hearing about your hospital stay now after a week of less blog reading I am slightly alarmed. Along with the mad monkey loving ban it doesn’t sound so well. Take care, lady!
While I won’t steer away from my vegetarian ways any time soon I’m happy to see you’re honoring your cravings for bacon when they happen. Without making a big deal of it – because it really shouldn’t be but we know some anonymus online haters can make it that. End of random ramble.
Miss Polkadot recently posted…Week in review: The Clean[ing] and Fast Edition
If we won the lotto, a trip to Germany would definitely be in the near future. It’s on the Hubby’s bucket list. Granted we’d need to play the lotto more than a handful of times of year…. hmmm.
I’m all good, health wise. Promise.

Hooray for veggies! I know I will be planning some veggie central meals next week after my parents leave… They are very meat focused and I have been missing my beloved veg so much!
Look forward to writing a week in review post next week – I was hoping to do one this week but with hosting the parentals it’s just chaos here! Went to the zoo yesterday instead 🙂
Jen @ Chase the Red Grape recently posted…Murph and Me!
Parents visits and the zoo trumps the week in review any day. I’m happy you got to spend so much time with them, although I can’t wait to see you back soon.

Holy.snap. I have no idea how you managed to be productive with everything else going on. Also, thank you for reminding me that I need to hit up a VS myself to buy some new stuff. It’s been a while and I’m craving something new. TMI. Also, also… my vote goes for Honest Blue. It’s the one that caught my eye the most, and I think it looks awesome with the yellow. That’s freaky about the razor blades, though. Hopefully there weren’t any shenanigans going on.
Amanda @ .running with spoons. recently posted…link love 1/10
I don’t even want to know what was happening with those razor blades. Freaky much.
Yes, you must go to Victoria’s Secret. Life always seems so much better when your girls are in order.

So long flower bathroom!! As long as you don’t paint over Alice I’ll be ok. Successful weekend indeed!! That melt sandwich looks bommbbb.
Brittany recently posted…May the Life Force Be with You
No worries, Alice is staying. In fact, Alice is becoming an integral part of the nursery.

I do 95% of my things on the weekend. Weekdays I day little more than go to work and feed myself.
Meghan recently posted…Week in Review #13
We’ve been back and forth with buying a house and holy moly does it look like a lot of work. I cannot even imagine, you are so productive. Also that grilled cheese looks amazing. I have been craving grilled cheeses as well as mac and cheese.
Home ownership is a shitton of work. I wouldn’t trade it for anything though. My home is my happy place.
