Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.
The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back.
Need more details? Head here. ♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫
Let’s get listing:
I worked fortyish hours on the job.
I had a delicious lunch out with coworkers. It involved good company and a classic Wedge Salad.
I opted to take a bit of a blogging break, which was the best decision ever. It freed up my mornings for a little extra snoozing, bill paying, some blog reading, and thank you card writing.
It also allowed me to spend my evenings couch lounging and bathtub soaking, now daily occurrences along with stretching. If I could live in my bathtub right now, I totally would.
I had a doctor’s appointment, another weekly occurrence these days. All is well with the babe.
I finished my old book and started a new one.
I hit up Nature’s Bin and Breadsmith, my two favorite local foodie establishments for some staples and yes pomegranate sugar cookies totally count as staples.
I got a one hour massage and scheduled another appointment in two weeks. I almost asked the massage therapist to move in, but thought that might be a little forward considering we haven’t even been on a date. At the very least, I should buy her a drink first.
In home renovations, I hung curtain rods and window treatments so our guest bedroom is officially open for business, although if nudity and exposure is your thing, you could have come sooner.
In a purely selfless gesture, I gave up my spare closet for the baby, which might have something to do with it being her room soon. Details, schmetails.
As a result, I put together some shelves for my shoes and started the process of reorganizing my closet in the master bedroom. I need more shelves.
I also started cleaning out what will eventually become the nursery.
I had a lovely and lengthy Skype session with my girl Juli, where I begged her to come cook for me. #noshame.
Speaking of food, I got my non-ass ass in the kitchen and did some prep work on Sunday. I hard boiled eggs, baked potatoes, roasted veggies, and made a batch of Sweet and Salty Trail Mix Granola.
Side note: Since next Sunday the 20th is the International Day of Happiness, my Week in Review next Monday is going to be about all things Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy. You are more than welcome to bring the happiness to the party or you can stick with our usual shenanigans.
It’s your turn. I want to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.
What are three things you accomplished in the last week?
Juli@1000lovelythings says
Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to buy your massage therapist a drink before she moves in. Or maybe you just show her the guest bedroom. It’s beautiful! I love the curtains. The color makes the room look so fresh and a bit like summer 🙂
You don’t have to do much begging. I am all set up for coming and cooking for you. All the cheesy things for you and all the meaty things for your hubby. I also prepared Stefan for his bartender duties. He’s all in. You will get along great 🙂
High five for cooking yesterday! Well done!

It’s pretty obvious you didn’t share my trouble of finding an alluring title for your post this week ;). Nudity sells.
I’d say a batch or two of your granola and you’re good to go asking your massage therapist to move in with you. Add that awesome guest bedroom and she’ll be sold. Though that’d mean there’s no room for me anymore and I’m not sure how I like that ..
I’m happy all is well with you and the little one and major kudos for all the food prep.

Nudity always sells. 🙂
I feel like I should make granola for the nurses at the hospital, in preparation for my and the baby’s arrival. It might be a good gesture and a way to get off on the right foot. Hmmm….
There will always be room for you at my place. Granola too. 🙂

My roommate loves baths too. She almost didn’t want to rent the apartment we live in because it didn’t have a bath. I remember when I was finally allowed to take a shower instead of a bath when I was like 7 and I never went back 😛 I do find myself in the shower often contemplating life hahaha
I’m glad you had a restful week :-* You need to stock up on those for when the little mushroom comes out and you don’t sleep much 🙂

Meghan says
I do fancy myself a long hot shower too, but these days baths are the only place I feel really comfortable. It has something to do with the heat and weightlessness.

I have a friend who is a massage therapist and I am always telling her she move closer by. I seriously don’t know how they give hour long massages. I give Terry a 3 minute one and I am dying.
Cookies are a staple for certain!
Meghan says
Massage therapists have the strongest hands. It’s amazing how they go non-stop for an hour. 🙂

Very brave of you to show off your guest room like that – you may have a crew of silly wanderers (cough cough me) coming and knocking on your door. Looks beautiful!
Loving the week off and filling it with stretching and snoozing and baths (those bubbles!!). And even some organization productivity and meal prep. Holla!
Excited for next week’s theme… I’ll be bringing my happiness game face.

Thanks Michele. Gotta love a classic wedge. It’s been years since I’ve had one, especially with bacon. It was fantastic. I will definitely do it again.

My list is coming! How on earth do people eat wedge salads? I’d probably just pick that whole chunk up with my hands and eat it like a cheeseburger.
So excited about zee babybeeee cominggggg! Weeeeeee!

It’s the only salad I know where you need a steak knife and fork to eat it. You have to work for the wedge.

I love the bold blue with the white in the guest bedroom too. The pops of red and yellow just seemed to make sense to me. The Hubby was skeptical at first, but I think he’s on board now.
You have a great week too.

Oh it would be completely appropriate if you invited the masseuse to move in, you’ve gone to second base practically right? Plus hello, check out that fabulous fabulous guest bedroom!! When the time is right I’m plopping my big booty (bigger than your non ass by a hair) on that delicious bed. I might have an infant in tow 🙂
I love your plan for next weeks WIR! Even though I’m on a blogging and web hiatus, I might need to join that party. I live to share joyful things 🙂

You better bring the babe with you. We can have shenanigans and be exhausted together. There’s plenty of room for a pack n play in the guest bedroom.
I’d love to have you at next week’s happiness party if you feel up to it. No pressure though.

I think it’s been at least a year since I soaked in a nice bath (nice Mr. Bubbles, by the way)… I’m going to make sure my next master bathroom has a tub and not just a shower, otherwise I have to empty the one tub in the house of toys and whatnot and it’s so not worth it.
The guest room is looking quite cozy too!

Meghan says
We put a bath tub in when we redid the master bathroom a few years back. It even has jets. Best decision ever.
Agreed, I think the guest bedroom is really coming together. Now we can actually tackle the nursery. Ha!

Glad to hear all is well with you and the baby 😀
Your finished spare room looks so beautiful and inviting! I would be over in a jiffy if I could!
I am so pleased you are gaining so much rest and relaxation from your baths and massages. This is where we are so different – I cannot stand being in a bath and massages just make me even more tense, stiff and sore! Think I’m the odd one with this though!
Jen @ Chase the Red Grape recently posted…Week in Review – March 14
Meghan says
Some people just don’t like to be touched so massages aren’t really their thing. Different strokes for different folks.
Right now, they are my everything along with hot baths. It’s my only place of comfort.

I need the Granola.
And I am so happy I am not the only one who has an issue with space for clothes and shoes. This makes me feel so much better.
Wait. Where is Oscar in this post? That feels weird not seeing him. Has he eaten the Ice Cream and is now sick laying in the corner?
Lucie@FitSwissChick recently posted…Don’t grow up – it’s a trap.

There’s not a chance I would share my ice cream with Oscar. As is, the Hubby is lucky he got any. 🙂
