Week in Review: Bathtubs, Cookies and Nudity (#22)

March 14, 2016 by Meghan 50 Comments

Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.

The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back.

Week In Review Button Final

Need more details? Head here. ♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫

Let’s get listing:

I worked fortyish hours on the job.

I had a delicious lunch out with coworkers. It involved good company and a classic Wedge Salad.

Wedge Salad at Dynomite

I opted to take a bit of a blogging break, which was the best decision ever. It freed up my mornings for a little extra snoozing, bill paying, some blog reading, and thank you card writing.

It also allowed me to spend my evenings couch lounging and bathtub soaking, now daily occurrences along with stretching. If I could live in my bathtub right now, I totally would.

Bubble Bath

I had a doctor’s appointment, another weekly occurrence these days. All is well with the babe.

I finished my old book and started a new one.

I hit up Nature’s Bin and Breadsmith, my two favorite local foodie establishments for some staples and yes pomegranate sugar cookies totally count as staples.

Pomegranata Sugar Cookie from Breadsmith

I got a one hour massage and scheduled another appointment in two weeks. I almost asked the massage therapist to move in, but thought that might be a little forward considering we haven’t even been on a date. At the very least, I should buy her a drink first.

In home renovations, I hung curtain rods and window treatments so our guest bedroom is officially open for business, although if nudity and exposure is your thing, you could have come sooner.

Guest Bedroom Window Treatments

In a purely selfless gesture, I gave up my spare closet for the baby, which might have something to do with it being her room soon. Details, schmetails.

As a result, I put together some shelves for my shoes and started the process of reorganizing my closet in the master bedroom. I need more shelves.

Master Bedroom Closet

I also started cleaning out what will eventually become the nursery.

I had a lovely and lengthy Skype session with my girl Juli, where I begged her to come cook for me. #noshame.

Speaking of food, I got my non-ass ass in the kitchen and did some prep work on Sunday. I hard boiled eggs, baked potatoes, roasted veggies, and made a batch of Sweet and Salty Trail Mix Granola.

Oven Baked Potatoes

Oven Roasted Veggies

Sweet, salty, crispy, crunchy, chewy, this Trail Mix Granola will make your taste buds dance and your mouth sing.

Side note: Since next Sunday the 20th is the International Day of Happiness, my Week in Review next Monday is going to be about all things Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy. You are more than welcome to bring the happiness to the party or you can stick with our usual shenanigans.

It’s your turn. I want to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.

Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to buy your massage therapist a drink before she moves in. Or maybe you just show her the guest bedroom. It’s beautiful! I love the curtains. The color makes the room look so fresh and a bit like summer 🙂

You don’t have to do much begging. I am all set up for coming and cooking for you. All the cheesy things for you and all the meaty things for your hubby. I also prepared Stefan for his bartender duties. He’s all in. You will get along great 🙂

High five for cooking yesterday! Well done!

It’s pretty obvious you didn’t share my trouble of finding an alluring title for your post this week ;). Nudity sells.
I’d say a batch or two of your granola and you’re good to go asking your massage therapist to move in with you. Add that awesome guest bedroom and she’ll be sold. Though that’d mean there’s no room for me anymore and I’m not sure how I like that ..
I’m happy all is well with you and the little one and major kudos for all the food prep.

      Nudity always sells. 🙂

I feel like I should make granola for the nurses at the hospital, in preparation for my and the baby’s arrival. It might be a good gesture and a way to get off on the right foot. Hmmm….

There will always be room for you at my place. Granola too. 🙂

My roommate loves baths too. She almost didn’t want to rent the apartment we live in because it didn’t have a bath. I remember when I was finally allowed to take a shower instead of a bath when I was like 7 and I never went back 😛 I do find myself in the shower often contemplating life hahaha
I’m glad you had a restful week :-* You need to stock up on those for when the little mushroom comes out and you don’t sleep much 🙂

I think it’s been at least a year since I soaked in a nice bath (nice Mr. Bubbles, by the way)… I’m going to make sure my next master bathroom has a tub and not just a shower, otherwise I have to empty the one tub in the house of toys and whatnot and it’s so not worth it.

The guest room is looking quite cozy too!
