Another month and here I am slipping in a Currently post last minute. What can I say? Procrastination is my style, or maybe I just work better under pressure. Whatever the case may be, I’m just gonna leave this post right here and back away slowly.
Current Book: John Irving’s Avenue of Mysteries. I don’t love it, but I’ll finish it because I can’t not finish it. It’s how I’m wired, and at least it’s well written.
Current Triumphs: Ave is almost six months old now, and the kid and I are both still alive and well. That is major feat in my not so humble opinion, although the Hubby and I did almost cook her last night. Let’s just say a space heater was a bad idea, even on the lowest setting. Thankfully, she’s no worse for the wear.
Current Needs: a nap. No matter how much sleep I get, I’m always tired. I blame the nursing. It wears me down.
Current Indulgence: chocolate, all the chocolate. I don’t hate it; not even a little bit.
Current Drink: water, so much water. Again I blame the nursing.
Current Food: snack plates. They’re my lunch of late. Also English Muffin bread is the ultimate when it comes to butter pockets. I give it three gold stars, two snaps, some glitter and a twirl.
Current Bane of Existence: Oscar is on the war path. I’ve found five very dead birds in our three seasons room in the past two days.
Current Obsession: same as last month. My planner game is still going strong. Also, that “me” time on Wednesday night is code for writing this post with a side of peanut butter and chocolate.
Current Non-Guilty Pleasure: same as my latest and greatest obsession. I’m a grown ass woman playing with stickers, and I’m digging it.
Current Excitement: Ave is so super close to giggling. I’ve gotten a few squeaks, a cheep and some chortles but not a full blow, all out, laugh yet. It’s coming though, and I can’t wait.
Current Confession: My Hubby had to throw out my razor because it was growing rust. The scary part is that I was still using it in that condition.
Current Blessing: my in-laws. They started coming over once a week (if not more) to get their Ave fix and give this momma a bit of a break.
Current Wish List: I sure would like some ice cream to go with my chocolate.
Current Thankfulness: for my new favorite coffee mug. It just showed up in the mail one day. Thank you whoever sent it. Blows kiss.
Current Mood: exhausted and happy.
Your turn. Whatβs Currently going on in your world? Current book? Current obsession? Current confession?

Love your blog. Its funny, cute and sweet and all at the same time. Some people think Motherhood is easy, no it is not and doesn’t get any easier. We love our children and would do anything for them, that’s why we are a Special Person in Gods eyes no matter if we are Man or Woman.
Thanks again for sharing, I love you for that.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks Dianne for your lovely comment. What a perfectly apt description of motherhood. π

That mug…. <3
With all the beautiful, smiley pictures of Ave, its hard to imagine that a little chuckle hasn't yet popped out! She's going to have the best laugh.
I've been heading to the chocolate isle first thing on every grocery trip these days – hounding and waiting for the next sale to go on. When it does, I will be stocking up.

She’s got a few chuckles and squeals out but not the full monty. She’s so close though. I’m super excited for it.
Yes to all the chocolate.

You have a secret admirer that sent you that mug?!? What the what? How do I get one? (a secret admirer and a mug). I just am so happy you had Ave so that I can read your blog posts all the time. I know it’s selfish of me to say, but I’m tickled pink. I have never seen english muffin bread before, but it is now on my list of quests. I love the photos of you with Ave. You’re both so beautiful together, I swear. And the one with your father in law is cute too. You’re crazy photogenic! Okay, that’s enough compliments. I’m actually making myself nauseous.

How funny. I spent years disliking how I come out in photos. Now I just smile big, say fuck it, and document the hell out of everything.
I love the mug, and I would also love to know who sent it so I can thank them. It’s awesome.

Your snack platters are the perfect lunch! Everything works.Pretty much like with avocado toast. And it’s quick. Just perfect!
I need to work on my planner game. Your planner puts mine to shame. I am super proud that I have gel pens that are erasable but I haven’t fpind any stickers yet (despite spending hours! on etsy. I don’t exxagerate. HOURS!
Your in-laws are lovely people. Such a blessing!

I could get lost in the sticker heaven that is Etsy. I can’t believe you haven’t found any. Is it that they won’t ship to Germany? If so, send them to me and I’ll pass them along.
I’ve been working a little bit of my planner each day. It’s my “me” time.
My in-laws are fantastic. They keep asking about you and Stefan and telling me to pass along their hellos.

English muffin bread is my fave. I only recently started buying it and I can’t believe I never bought some sooner. It goes fast in our house and now that I made apple butter? I should probably buy double the loaves this week.
Haha, I laughed at the cooked baby. Whoops! That actually happened to me once when Phoebe was a baby. She was fussy, so I took her downstairs, turned on our fireplace heater, grabbed a blanket and before I knew it we had dozed off on the couch with her on on my chest… I woke up with both of us drenched in sweat and the heater roaring away. Ooops.

My currently post came up super late this month too… but at least we got it in there π And omg can I come hang with you and eat all your chocolate? Or at least a good portion of it? I’ve been craving chocolate like a madwoman (DAMN YOU HORMONES), and I went through the ENTIRE stash that I have at home. I’m THIS close to eating cocoa powder with a spoon…

I can’t believe she’s 6 months old! What a milestone. It’s amazing how quickly it has gone by. I also can’t believe how right you are about feeling exhausted no matter how much sleep you get. Lulu slept a lot the last few nights yet I still feel a little zombie ish. I’ve had a rough week personally. I got a crazy infection in my mouth last week that resulted in high fever and hallucinating pain. It turned out to be infected in my bone above my tooth, so yesterday I finally got a root canal. Before that I was in major pain killers and antibiotics. It’s been pretty crazy. At least I can say I’m 90% pain free now. Still have to go back next week for the finishing touches but the worst is over. Poor Lulu is such a trooper. She handled the two babysitters like a champ. I needed all the help I could get. I’m so grateful to have backup! Now I’m currently obsessed with food. Soft foods. Like Ben and jerrys cinnamon roll ice cream. Yummy

Currently I am loving the amazing fermented sourdough that we get from the farmers market (not GF but makes my tummy feel great) – only downside, the holes. I love butter pockets… But when the holes go all the way through and my precious butter and jam leak… So sad π

My current obsession is candied oranges and Ben Lee’s Everything For Love. I try and not repeat songs in my spin class but that song is my jam. Truly.
My daughter LOVES those bullet journals and planners! I just bought her some washi tape to send in her next college care package. I’d secretly like one, too, but I’m already feeling overwhelmed with my various creative projects. Maybe it would help me get organized?
