Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.
The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Need more details? Head here.
My kid has turned me into an extrovert. Or maybe it’s the idea of being trapped in the house with a tiny human for days on end. The weather has been cold and wet so frolicking in the front yard has taken a backseat. Since I didn’t want to go all Jack Nicholson in The Shining, Ave and I did a holy crapton of activities.
♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫
Let’s get listing:
We hit up our new favorite play group: Toddler Tuesday, and visited the local library at least twice for general debauchery and merriment.
On Tuesday, we hosted my in-laws for dinner. I made a veggie lasagna, which I completely failed to photograph. Bad, food blogger, bad.
On Wednesday morning, we went to our music class, where we did the Turkey Lurkey and shook everything all about. That night, we relaxed at the in-laws house and they fed us dinner.
One afternoon, the Hubby and I test rode bicycles since we’re looking to pick up some new ones.
Another day, the kid and I made blueberry pancakes. Ave was in charge of the blueberries, and she would put one in the bowl and two in her mouth.
On Thursday evening, I hosted Ave’s buddy and his mom for dinner. I made stuffed artichoke soup with brown rice and Asiago cheese and blue cheese drop biscuits. We spent the majority of our meal hanging out in Ave’s bathroom, since she needed to use the “potty.”
On Friday, I hung out with some girlfriends and drank all the wine and ate all the cheese. I told the Hubby I would be home around 10:30 p.m., and instead I strolled in the door at a quarter to three.
Saturday morning hangovers aside, I did typical adulting type things last week: paid bills, washed and folded laundry, vacuumed a bazillion times and went grocery shopping, where I accidentally shoplifted an onion. Oops, my bad.
I ordered some more holiday presents, and I continued to work on this bastard of a puzzle.
Last but not least, I managed to make it the gym three times last week to swim laps, and I went to another CycleBar class on Sunday morning. They lured me in with post ride mimosas.
In honor of Thanksgiving this Thursday, I’m going to pen a Gratitude post next Monday. Feel free to join in or continue on with your regular week in review shenanigans.
Now it’s your turn. I’d love to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.
What are three things you accomplished in the last week? Big or small.
Patricia @Sweetandstrong says
I feel like having a child can easily turn you into an extrovert bc you want to do so much with them. And so many yummy meals this week! I went to CycleBar yesterday too, love it!

I’m loving the CycleBar classes too. Now you have a place to visit when you’re in Cleveland.

Oh yes. The kids have extroverted me (Yeah, I just made that a verb). I’ve never wanted to go out to dinner and movies and museums and libraries more in my life. And the more to join, the merrier.

Yep, the more merrier so long as that includes some adult company. 🙂

Eeee test riding bicycles just fills me with so many happy images.
Ave has learned well the true ratio of eating vs using for all recipe creation. Gotta make sure the quality is top notch, right?
But being out till the middle of the night!? That one takes the cake this week. Ya you did! Did the hubby give you an angry/worried phone call when your curfew was up? Super impressed with your ability to still be an adult the next day. Hangovers seem to be coming on stronger in the aging years…

I was barely functioning the next day, so I’m grateful the Hubby was off and able to manage the child with minimal help from me. God bless him. No call or text from him either since he knew where I was. You tend to worry less about those things when you get older.

Whoa, you’re not kidding about being an extrovert last week! I’m impressed, although I don’t envy the hangover. I love how you and your friend spent the evening in the bathroom! Ha ha ha!!! I can’t believe Ave is big enough to use the potty already! She’s amazing.

It’s way too early for the potty and yet…. apparently the kid is a potty prodigy. Who knew?!

Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says
OMG. Quarter til 3?! I am seriously impressed. I thought your hangover was like a white girl “I drank 2 glasses of Chardonnay.” But that was legit!!! That’s my girl!
Cheers!!!

I know, I trained her well. OK fine, it was all her idea. 🙂

That picture of Ave kills me…between her cheeks and her shirt. Haha so cute.
Also glad to know I was not the only one feeling hungover on Saturday…but um, I was home by like 11? So you are cool and I’m lame.

Quarter to three? Oh my I would have died the next day if that was me. I was out until 11pm at a party on Saturday, I didn’t drink and I still felt exhausted the next day. Oh being in your 30’s…
I asked David what he wanted for Christmas breakfast this year… Without thinking he said ‘Megs biscuits again’ – thank goodness cause its all I wanted too!

hey what a smashing good week!!! i can’t imagine being up till 3AM but we did get out to a housewarming party and stayed up till midnight.. we actually got home at 11 and stayed up watching Stranger Things. we’re totally hooked, it’s crazy but fun. honestly i can’t remember last week, i can barely remember this morning! we are all still alive so that’s all that matters. i think our little one is thriving and flourishing, and oh yeah she’s talking a lot and her favorite word is NOOOOOOOOOOOO
Meghan says
I need to start watching Stranger Things. Everyone raves about it.
Ave loves to say No too. It’s a blast (snort).

Wow. I’m impressed. How do you do all that? It’s cold and wet here which for me means not moving if possible – from my lounge. I’m so jealous of Thanksgiving. I facetimed with Kyle today when he was on his way to his parents house to get into food coma. I have never experienced Thanksgiving!

If I didn’t have Ave, I wouldn’t move off the lounger either. The child dictates we do shit because otherwise we’ll lose our minds stuck in the house all day. 🙂
You should come for Thanksgiving next year. Or Christmas. You know you’re always welcome to holiday with us.

Ave’s blueberry measuring skills are on point and pretty much what mine were like as a child. Okay, who am I kidding? They still are the same; also with chocolate chips …
Holla for staying up and out all night. Especially impressive since I would likely be exhausted after a day spent entertaining a toddler already. And you even adulted all the way the next day!? Tell me your secret!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was lovely.
I did not adult the next time. I barely pulled myself out of bed. Thankfully the Hubby was home and handled the vast majority of toddler entertainment. The man is a Saint.
