Week In Review: #6

November 23, 2015 by Meghan 58 Comments

Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.

Week In Review Button Final

The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back.

Need more details? Head here. ♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫

Let’s get listing:

  • I worked too many hours again, although I had a mini breakthrough on a project I’ve been tinkering with for months. It felt fantastic.
  • I had dinner with a girlfriend and her family. It was sinfully delicious to let someone else cook for me. I loved every second of it, which is also why I failed to snap a single picture.
  • I had breakfast with a long lost friend.

The CliftonDiner Omelette and Hash Browns

  • I spent a good six hours on Saturday cleaning the house. Totally worth it.
  • I cooked dinner on at least three occasions, which is a small triumph for me these days.
  • I supervised the installation of a new TV.

Installing a new TV

  • I had movie night with the Hubby, involving the Avengers and some popcorn cooked old school style on the stovetop.
  • I went grocery shopping, at more than one location.

Fruit and Cheese

  • I made Orange Cranberry Granola.
  • I whipped up a batch of Apple Cheddar Multigrain Muffins.

Cheddar Apple Soaked Multigrain Muffins

  • I snagged this scallywag from the bus station.

Arman and Meg

  • Then I nabbed this lovely lady from the airport.

Meg and Juli

  • In style, of course; with coffee and Kahlua, much needed after a lengthy flight delay.

Coffee and Kahlua

  • Then we did a lot of this: fireside chatting.

Fireside

  • Followed by a little of that: Deep Fried Mac and Cheese on a Grilled Cheese at Melt.

Mac & Cheese Grilled Cheese at Melt

Your turn. I want to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.

We’re getting a new TV this week too, but I’m waiting till Friday so I can hopefully get a really good deal. I just hope I don’t have to shove an old lady out of my way to get it.

This TV purchase has been out list of things to do since March, and it just so happened to be 40% off so we went for it. That and I refuse to brave the crowds on Friday. You are a better woman than me, unless of course you do knock down an old lady. 🙂 🙂

The muffins are actually multigrain too and use corn meal too so they have a much more substantial texture. I adore them and I also went back and included the link so you can find the recipe when you’re ready.

Yes, the apple cheddar combo is so winning right now in my book.

I swear girl, every time I see that fireplace, I get green with envy! One day WILL have my own!

Sounds like you kicked last week in the balls! And still had time to be a regular social butterfly…introvert my ass! 😉 Awesome job on the dinners. I’m feeling about the same in my amazement for all the cooking I’ve been doing. Though my only excuse for not doing so is just that I’m a lazy bum. It’s weird how having Jason IN the house motivates me to cook more when before he moved in, we were pretty much together every night. Of course, now I know that all the ingredients are in ONE place instead of getting halfway through cooking and realizing something’s at the other house. So annoying!

I’ve been meaning to make granola for over a week now. As soon as I finish this cup of coffee, it’s hap-en-NING! 😀
