I don’t have an introduction for you today.
I’d rather come clean than talk about the weather or how quickly February is flying by. Borrr-Ring.
Instead of pretending or spewing out “wah wah wah wah” like the teacher from Peanuts, I figured we jump right into the heart of today’s post and talk about what’s currently going down in my little world. “Yes, that’s so much better,” she says sarcastically. Scintillating, I know.
Current Book: Iโm still working on Dragonfly in Amber, the second novel in the Outlander series. Despite the sheer amount of time it’s taking me to read it, I am loving it. In my defense, because of course I have one, it’s a really big book.
Current Triumphs: passing my second glucose test with flying colors. Boo-Yah.
Current Non-Guilty Pleasure: strolling down memory lane.
Current Indulgence: the Hubby and I have been eating out a lot lately. We’re cashing in on some unused gift cards and the advice of friends and family, who recommended we go on as many dates as possible before the baby arrives.
Current Drink: H2O baby, H20. Hydration is key.
Current Food: aside from meals out, it’s been whatever the Hubby feeds me. Last night we had veggie quesadillas and the day before was leftover Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes with a side of broccoli. Anything beyond that, and I can’t remember.
Current Obsession: unless of course it’s Juli’s Veggie and Cheese Brunch Skillet, which tends to leave a favorable impression. I’ve eaten this a happy handful of times in the past few weeks, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
Current Bane of Existence: I took off my toenail polish a week or so ago and now I can no longer bend in such a way to repaint my toes. #pregnancyproblems
Current Excitement: after living in our house for seven years, the Hubby and I finally picked out and put up window treatments for the Manchuary.
Current Confession: alright, alright I picked them out; he put them up. Teamwork at it’s finest, aside from monkey loving that is.
Current Wish List: a new pizza stone since I broke my beloved mere days ago. Can we all take a moment to pay respect? Good-bye my friend; you will be missed.
Current Blessing: my Week in Review link up. I am tickled pink by how many people are participating and more importantly, I love hearing how good it’s making YOU feel. Focusing on your accomplishments instead of the laundry list of things left on your To Do list definitely helps boost self esteem.
Current Needs: I hate to be blunt, alright fine, it doesn’t bother me at all, but right now I need sex, plain and simple. I’m tired of pelvic rest. I’m an adult woman, in a monogamous relationship, and I have needs dammit!
Current Thankfulness: wonderful friends who send me the loveliest and funniest of baby gifts.
Current Fear: parenting. There are days I struggle to take care of myself. How in the world am I going to manage a tiny human.
Current Epiphany: I’m generally strongest when faced with a challenge, so I know it will all work out in the end. Bring it on Baby, bring it on.
Current Laughs: True story.
Current Links: This Healthy Smoothie Recipe Round Up from DIY Joy because they included my very own Easy Breezy Tropical Orange Smoothie. Insert serious bout of squealing here.
Current Mood: I’m pregnant which means my mood is more fickle than a fair weathered friend. At this very second though, I’m quite excited to drink my one cup of coffee for the day.
Your turn. Whatโs Currently going on in your world? Current book? Current obsession? Current confession? Current mood?

Totally dying over mini-Meg. You were too freaking cute! That’s not to say that you aren’t now, but you know what I mean ๐ And you’re making me freaking hungry with all the savoury goodness, which is weird considering it’s early in the day and you know I’m a sweets girl at heart. I could go for a pizza, though. Or some Mexican. Really, I just want salsa. Or coffee. Let’s start with coffee. Brain not fully functional yet…

Maybe your hubby could paint you toes for you ๐ My current obsession is concurrent with my current book. I am loving readin as much as I can. It can be anything and I just like to read it. I go through phases where I want all the books, and that phase is right now.
You signed up for a tough mudder? That’s legit! I’ve done one before is it was hard but really rewarding!

I’m afraid to have my Hubby do it. I’m not sure he can color inside the lines. ๐
I did a Tough Mudder a couple years ago. It’s how I got the head band; it was a blast.

Yum yum love that brunch skillet! I also recommend going on as many dates as you can handle pre-baby. It is never the same afterwards! Although then again everything winds up feeling like a date if you’re alone with your hubby at that point ๐ Adam and I have a dinner out planned for this Saturday and I’m sure our last one was at least 2 months ago – I’d have to check the blog ๐

Agree with everyone else on the whole go-on-as-many-dates-as-you-can suggestion. I wish we had gone on more… it’s not the same when you have to be home at a reasonable hour because you know you won’t get a good night’s rest and won’t get to sleep in. I hated that point in pregnancy when I couldn’t bend over to do anything. I was also absurdly huge, though, and people would stare when I went out those final months. Currently in my world I think I’m almost ready to start the 3rd Outlander book. I was going to save it, but I’m officially Outlander obsessed.

See I feel like this is where I should really get my drink on too because hangovers with a small child are a problem, and yet I can’t drink. One of life’s little ironies.
Damned if that Outlander series doesn’t pull you in though. ๐

I don’t like eating corn because seeing my food in pre-chewed form in my poo a day later makes me uncomfortable. When I’m pregnant, I’m like a cat in heat: bum in the air, writing around on the ground, howling at even the smallest gust of wind… I think it’s normal. Everything is so… engorged down there, ready to go at any second. The sex dreams that come along with pregnancy don’t help, either.

1. Manchuary. That’s a thing! I love it. Never tell Vegas.
2. You’re going to be an awesome mom – I’m sure you’ll take better care of a baby than you do of yourself.
2. I want that Crap/Crop bumper sticker.
3. Did you notice I effed up the numbers? I did that just to annoy you. Mwah.

It made me so happy that you made the veggie and cheese skillet and enjoyed it and I am over the moon that you even make it on repeat! I know you understand how I feel! Love you sweetie :o*
Go on as many dates as you can! Pregnant or not spending quality time with your significant other always is a win! We haven’t been out at all lately and I am so looking forward to having a proper date on Saturday.

I completely agree, go out as much as possible while you can. We adopted this practice before we even got pregnant, figuring at our age gotta get out while we’re still able. Baby or not life is too short so I say do whatever makes you smile, nights in are nice too.
I’m wondering if the blue Nessie ladle was in the package I sent… If not then I’ve got an ass to beat at the UPS store ๐

H20 is my current blessing right now – can’t get enough ice water from the fridge. I actually should pick some mint from my herb garden just to change it up and flavour it a bit.
It kills me that all I’m talking about right now is the weather, sigh, but it’s making such a big impact on everything we do right now. Although went to the cinema last night and their air con was heaven. I didn’t want to leave!
