Get your pads and pens ready because it’s time for the Week In Review.
The Week In Review is a list, in its purest form, not of the things you still need to do, but of all the things you have done in the last seven days. It’s an achievement list, an ode to yourself, a celebration of sorts, and a virtual pat on the back or smack on the ass. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Need more details? Head here.
♫ You can do it, put your list into it. ♫
I could prattle on about all sorts of exciting stuff from last week, like the fact I managed to shave my legs for the first time in longer than I care to admit or how I finally packed my bag for the hospital. As it turns out that last one was just in the nick of time too since my routine doctors appointment on Thursday afternoon had an unexpected, yet absolutely welcome result.
The simple fact is only one thing really matters right now. We got to meet our daughter, Ave Ruth (pronounced Ah-Vay), named after mine and the Hubby’s grandmothers on Thursday evening at 10:19 p.m.. Weighing in at 5 pounds 8 ounces with an overall height of 17 inches, she’s a mini vanilla gorilla just like her momma.
Also, I survived labor with my nether regions mostly in tact. Oh and I totally asked for the extra stitch. 😉
In light of this recent development, you’ll have to carry on the Week in Review party without me. Just know I’m there in spirit.
It’s your turn. I want to hear from you. Link up and get yo’ list on.
What are three things you accomplished in the last week?
omg!!!! I didn’t know!!!! did I miss it on social media or this is the first announcement?! congratulations!!!! she is beautiful!!!!!! I am so excited 🙂 xxoxoxox

Congratulating twice never hurts so: congrats, Meg, and welcome in this world, Ave Ruth! Such a beautiful name and she’s already living up to it. I’m sure she’s won over your and the hubby’s – or: everybody’s – heart already.

Meg, she’s the cutest! Well done you two 😀
Some time probably over some alcoholic beverages you have to tell me a bit more about the whole baby getting out there thing. You are the only person I trust not to sugarcoat things. Though on the other hand I better not get too many info until I decide weather to reproduce or not.

Look at that little vanilla gorilla! What a sweetheart! Ironically, in my post, I wrote how impressed I was that you keep hosting this linkup, despite how pregnant you’re getting…I never expected you’d post less than week after you delivered! and still with a sense of humor.
You really are a rock star. And I’m sure you will be an amazing mom. Enjoy your little one, take care, and get rest when you can!
Thanks Joyce. This was an easy and happy post to write. 🙂

Meghan,
Ave is simply lovely, I can see why you’re smitten!
And I lovelovelove the “I’m not in labor. Been there, done that” message. So you!
Rest when you get the chance, use the resources you’ve got, and enjoy.

I thought you might like the Not in Labor, Been there, done that message. 🙂
Meghan recently posted…Week in Review: Newborn by Numbers (#27)
Ave really is a cutie… and I’m so pleased everything went well with the delivery etc. Like Juli, you are one of the very few people I would trust to tell me what pregnancy and giving birth is truly like, without sugar coating it.
Good call on the extra stitch… 😉
Jen @ Chase the Red Grape recently posted…Friday Favourites April 08
In the interest of full disclosure, the actual labor part was way easier than the being pregnant bit. I don’t think I’m your typical labor story though. Let’s just say this kid was more ready than I was to make her entrance into the world.
Meghan recently posted…Week in Review: Newborn by Numbers (#27)
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, congratulations! Ave is just perfect – and I love her name too!
Rest up and look after yourself mama, you’ve done an incredible job! xo

You’re the fourth person to ask about the birth story. Hmmm, maybe I need to share it on the blog. In any event, I will send you a message real soon and tell you all about it. 🙂

She’s the cutest little gorilla ever!!! TMI on the extra stitch, but I still love you. Go eat a banana.
Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table recently posted…5 Minute Mango-Blueberry Egg White Oats [Recipe]
I eat bananas like they’re going out of style. It’s the quickest and easiest thing to pop in the middle of the night after breastfeeding yet again. I might not share those #publicbanana pictures though. You understand. 😉

Congratulations! She is precious! And yay for nether regions being mostly in tact! I’m going to copy most of the other comments on here and say I hope you’ve gotten yourself a long awaited beverage…and at least a little bit of sleep!
Katie @ Run Now, Wine Later recently posted…Fitness Friday: Sacramento ClassPass Review
Yes to the boozy beverages and I’m still working on that sleep issue. On good days, I can get a solid two hours in a single stretch. It’s exhausting, yet rewarding.

Uuummmmmmmmm so I forgot to say congrats for birthing the baby vanilla gorilla! =)
Well? She’s just perfect.
You went ahead and made a whole other human being – out of thin air.
So when you can’t get the laundry done? Just remind yourself that you created an entire PERSON.
It’s pretty sweet, when you think about the biology of it.
Men ain’t got nothing on us…
🙂
This is going to be my new mantra: I created another person out of thin air. I created another person out of thin air.
Congrats again – you are an amazing human!
Aw shucks. Thanks Melissa.
